They wouldn't last long here either, I do tend to have hm bread ready sliced so he can make sandwich and hm fruit muffins or fruit scones etc.

He is very active (football player and referee) so needs fuelling; has 3 weetabix for breakfast and a banana on the bus going to school, lunch is packed - 4 slices hm bread with meat/cheese/egg/tuna filling, fruit, hm cake of some sort, packet of crisps; then as soon as he walks in the door at 3.30pm he has basically another packup and then his cooked dinner at approx 7pm, then at approx 10pm he will get a bowl of porridge and more fruit or hm cake.
He also drinks milk with the more snacky meals he has at home.
    My self & hubby; 2 sons (30 & 26). Hubby also a found daughter (37).
Eldest son has his own house with partner & her 2 children (11 & 10)
Youngest son & fiancé now have own house.
    So we’re empty nesters.
    Daughter married with 3 boys (12, 9 & 5).
My mother always served up leftovers we never knew what the original meal was. - Tracey Ulman

I need help, lots of help.

After the best part of 5 months on market someone had offered and acceptable amount for our current home :j We have offered on another place and they have accepted and also want quick completion so if all runs smoothly we move in 7 weeks :rotfl::rotfl::eek: Yep 2 kids under 4 and 7 months pregnant I will moving 2 weeks before christmas :rotfl: You have to laugh or you would cry.

Anyway I hhave just had OH to do a quick stock take of the tinned store cupboard with a view to using as much as possible and spending as little as possible on food over the next 7 weeks plus less to move KWIM. It's actually quite shocking

    Anyway we have:

    11 tins plum tomatoes
12 tins tuna in spring water
    3 tin beans
    1 tin beans and sausages
    4 500g jars pasatta
    4 tins chopped tomatoes
3 jars sweet and sour cook in sauce
    1 jar hot dogs
    5 tins condensed mushroom soup
    1 tin condensed chicken soup
1 tin chicken and white wine homepride sauce
    5 small tins maderins
    3 tins peaches
    1 large tin pineapple chunks
    2 small tin pineapple rings
    3 tin chicken soup
    1 tin tomato soup
    2 tins veg soup
    2 tins scotch broth
2 tin lentil and bacon soup
    1 tin chicken noodle soup
    2 tins whole baby carrots
    2 evaporated milk
    2 condensed milk
    5 tins sweetcorn
1 tomato and mascerpone stir thru pasta sauce
3 tins pasta shapes and sauce

And that is only one cupboard, we also have spagetti, pasta twists, long grain and rissotto rice, tagliatteli, self raising, plain and strong white flour, yeast, herbs spices and stock cubes, oil, vinagers (balsamic, cider, rice, malt and white wine) HM gluttony chutney, HM jams, tea bags, coffee, cocoa, ovaltine, oats, couscous etc.

 anyone have any meal ideas for this little lot  TBH I am struggling to come up with anything other than soup and a sandwich or similar. We will still be buying fresh stuff so vegtable pasta sauces.

    Anyone??

  • my suggestions are aimed more at the plainer eaters as im a fussey begger myself.

i would be doing soup/beans/spaghetti on toast for lunches or quick dinners
tinned fruit for puddings or snacks
tuna pasta and various other pasta dishes with the tomatos and hot dogs etc.

    seafarers xx

Good luck with the move :)

You could try using the soups as a base for casseroles. For example, sliced hot dogs in the mushroom soup over mashed potato, tuna in one of the soups as a pasta sauce (vary by using a creamy one then a tomato soup). I don't think things-on-toast + soup will do anyone harm for a little while ;) It's about all my poor DD ate in the early days of my second pregnancy and she hasn't suffered :D
Love and compassion to all x

2 or more tins chopped tomatoes, sauteed onion and some herbs. Simmer to thicker. Cool and put in fridge. Add sweetcorn/tuna/hot dogs as wanted to portions of the tom sauce. Use on pizzas or as pasta sauce
