Right, I've just meal planned for first time in ages: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/comment/36973634#Comment_36973634
And this has used/will use quite a few things up:
vegetable samosas, 12 rolls, peas
[STRIKE]parsnips brussels sprouts green beans syrup pudding corn on the cob curly fries few odd french fries croquettes[/STRIKE]
So will need to find a way to use up the 12 rolls - maybe with some soup. I had some part-baked rolls today and after buttering them I ground some garlic flakes on them - ta da garlic bread (sort of). Yum.
Must double check the freezer again as I think there must be some more stuff lurking in there not accounted for in my meal plan. :ADeclutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage

Empty Freezers for defrosting 28th September!
Well it hasn't gone very well over the weekend.
Defrosted some summer berries for making muffins and didn't get round to it - going to make smoothies with them later.
Fish fingers are still in the freezer - DH has a cold and didn't fancy fish finger sandwiches for our Sunday afternoon snack!
Went out for something to eat on Friday eve so Chicken Biryani didn't get made.
However, frying steak is out of the freezer this morning for beef and mushroom stroganoff. Just hope that there is enough room in the little upstairs freezer to stuff the remaining contents of the chest freezer - got to defrost tomorrow!Mortgage Free x 1 03.11.2012 - House rented out Feb 2016

I use it for all kinds of things but it makes a lovely cheese "pie" layered with grated cheese and topped with cheesy breadcrumbs (or cheese and crushed tuc/ritz) and then baked in the oven for about half an hour - really nice with beans. I also use it to thicken soups and stews too, and to make hm fishcakes.
Totally agree, my MIL is a natural health therapist and has tons of books on health etc. Was reading an article in one of her binders about convenience food and it suggested making instant mash with a splash of olive oil rather than butter. It cited instant mash as a convenience food that was fine to offer the family. I think other foods mentioned included oven chips and baked beans off the top of my head!!!Taking baby-steps :beer:0 -

I've not added anything to my cupboards, freezer or fridge except some bread, fresh fruit/veg, fresh dairy stuff that we'd run out of and after noticing the date on my eggs I replaced them as well...even I wouldn't have touched eggs best before Aug 15th when its the 26th September
This time I've bought a smaller box of eggs
Oh, and I've bought stuff to bake my Xmas cakeNow I just need to decide what I'm going to soak my fruit in. My mum uses Brandy, I only have whiskey in, so do I buy some brandy, use whiskey or use something else?
