How about pasta and meatballs?
Use the tomato soup/peas with the pasta and defrost the burgers. Add some herbs and spices to the meat mix (and some onion if you have any), shape into balls. I would normally oven bake the meatballs, but I'm sure they would fry just fine on the hob!0 -

yeah, i was going to suggest the same.. you could do it all in the slow cooker, but that would mean that the pasta and meatball are mixed in together, i have done if for my kids and they love it. cook the meatballs..(made from the burgers) with the condensed tomato soup. may have to add more water and then thicken back up with gravy granuals, about an hr before dishing up add the pasta. just keep checking there is enough liquid in the slow cooker.
hope this helps a little0 -
I'm going away for Christmas so I sat down yesterday evening and worked out what I'm going to eat for the next week, based entirely on the contents of Freezerland and my cupboards. I reckon I shouldn't need to buy anything between now and Christmas except milk, fruit and smoked salmon (all right, I don't need the smoked salmon, but it's half price in M&S and I just can't turn down cheap smoked salmon!
)
I had a minor set-back this morning, though - I took out the last portion of lentil soup that I made on Sunday and heated it up for lunch today. Luckily I tasted it before pouring it into the flask as it had gone off and tasted unbelievably nasty. _pale_ If I want soup later I'll have to buy some from the shop down the road - it's homemade, though, so I don't mind quite as much.Back after a very long break!0 -
Make bread rolls from the pizza base mix. The children can have that or waffles with the horrible fish cakes and burgers
, with beans or peas.
You could have the pasta with the sausage casserole.

Right, I've changed my menu plan slightly after digging into Freezerland again and pulled out a minced meat pie I forgot I bought and some home made frozen roasties..
And feeling fed up now of getting accusing looks from the fruit I have stashed in there, I've decided to finally take it out and make jamApril 2021 Grocery Challenge 34.29 / 2500 -
I have an absolute MASS of frozen fruit defrosting right now (as in... filling 7 litres worth of various measuring jugs, plus 2 large bowls........)
I guess I'll be filling all my saved jamming jars. Any other suggestions for the fruit I don't cook for jam? I was thinking of making a few blackberry and apple pies to add to freezerlandfor Christmas day pudding but wondered if there were other ideas? I've failed miserably at fruit leathers before so won't be making them again
Help please! :A

I am making some room in my freezer and cupboards again. :j
I used some stir-fry beef, noodles, stir-fry sauce, and veg yesterday. Today, I am using a pack of minced turkey to make homemade turkey burgers which I will serve with some oven chips and salad.Value of prizes 2010 - 2017: £8374 Wins 2022: Magic set

My plans for emptying the freezer before Christmas have had a set-back already. I had planned to have beef stroganoff for dinner tonight, using steak from the freezer, but I've just realised I forgot to take the steak out to defrost before leaving for work this morning.
It looks like I might have to have something else instead, unless I can get the steak to defrost in a couple of hours when I get home.
Shortie - have you thought of a use for all your fruit yet? If not, I wondered about making some sort of fruit-based muffins, or cakes that could be cut up into slices - they might make a slightly healthier alternative to nibble on over Christmas. And how did the jam-making making go, BTW?Back after a very long break!0 -
Hi CCP
Yep, all used up now, phew! I ended up making 2 batches of jam (4kg of fruit!), 4 smallish but deep filled blackberry pies (I'll use 2 or 3 of those for Christmas day dinner...) and 2 lots of the oat bake bars - I found the recipie on here - very yummy, and some has been sent over to my childminders..
And then:o Ihad spare short crust pastry left over so many 12 savoury tarts filled with some caramalised red onion, grated Gouda cheese and a little home made sweet chilli chutney
I really need to not bake tomorrow and tidy - it might be fish fingers, chips and beans for dinner tomorrow to stop the tempation :rotfl:
