MIL taking us out for lunch, so maybe not much freezer clearance happening today, but I think I have a pot of chicken soup that we could have either later or for lunch tomorrow. Still trying to use up rather than buy.

Made a crumble (last night) and I use up 3 sad looking apples, some frozen summer fruits and the ingredients for topping! It was lovely:j

I went shopping last night to get some fridge and freezer stuff in as doing this I was running a bit low. My fridge was down to a cauliflower and some tomatoes. So we having cauliflower cheese today and I will use up the last of the tomatoes in a pasta dish in the next few days.

Normally I go way over on treat stuff at Christmas, this year I've only got the kids a selection box each and us some after eights. We'll be making biscuits for the tree and I have some candy canes, and that is it.

    Another pork chops one.
    Fry the pork chops.
Meanwhile finely chop an onion and fry it in a different pan.
Add about half a carton of cloudy apple juice and allow to simmer.
Add a carton of cream and allow it to simmer and reduce down.
Serve the creamy apple sauce with the pork chops, perhaps with mashed potatoes and veg, or oven chips...
OR same creamy sauce but put in the pork chops cooked and cut into pieces and allow to simmer.
Serve on a bed of rice.

Good luck with the date. Does he know his menu is being discussed?
  • didnt get to reply in time, but have a fab date and enjoy the meat balls!

I jsut bought a replacement breadmaker :j it was reduced from 67 to 25 :j as it had no box! :D Still got same guarnatees etc :D so very pleased with that its a the morphy richards. We did used to have one, it died- we never replaced it .

Anyhoo, that jazzes up the menu plan. We are having the sausages that OH took out yesterday in error now for a late lunch- and tonight will be a pizza weith mozzerella, mushrooms, sun dried tomatos, chorizo, handful of sweetcorn. The last of the roasted red peppers have come out of the freezer and I think they will be perfect on this pizza ( YUM!) Will use up the last of the potatoes and make some wedges as well to go with.

Ive taken a chicken out tomorrow, Im thinking ill do a roast - Ive got some veg for it. A few potatoes left, should be nice :)

Hope everyone is doing ok and not spending too much cash
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.

ys liver? I have tried various acronyms, but the best I can come up with is young swine! I will probably kick myself when you say what the YS stands for!
