Never made chutney go on cousin it - can I have your favourite recipes?

I have not been as good on clearing the freezer as I intended, but the path to hell is paved with good intentions. However it is going down.

Have Pork, Orange and Star Anise in the slow cooker, new recipe I am trying, so little bit of room in freezer.

Also clearing out all my old ebay stuff - used to be an ebayer and gave up about 18 months ago due to recessions and their changes it was virtually impossible to make what I sold worthwhile. Lots of stock that just wouldn't shift and was costing me in listing fees went to the charity shop .

Another load of Xmas wrap is off to the charity shop as it just isn't worth selling with postage and fees. So the PDSA will be pleased. I am all inspired and decluttering, see what clearing the freezer leads to! Maybe we will have a tidy Patch house for Christmas, Nahhh!

Lynz - you can get a thingy that plugs into your lighter socket which has an inverter and 13A plug socket on the end. You would then be able to plug a kettle in. We bought ours from Aldi but I know Halfords do them too.

Today I must do a checklist of the freezer. Haven't a clue whats in there apart from lots of chickens, and the turkey. We had the random ostrich steaks from makro the other night and really enjoyed them.

PP - Deeply envious of the apple juice. I always mean to have a go at making cider. We have four mature trees and usually have lots of juice frozen, but a freak giant hailstone storm early summer destroyed the whole crop this year.

Did quite well yesterday using up some bits. Three large chicken breasts from the freezer, one made into stir fry for tea last night with some fairly wilted spring onions and half a long red pepper plus noodles from the cupboard.

Planned to make curry with the rest of the chicken but then couldn't be bothered :o so it became chilli instead using opened passata from fridge and kidney beans from freezer left over from last time I made chilli.

That will be my tea tonight with another portion for the freezer and OH is having lamb & feta burger taken out of freezer this morning. Also took out a packet of bacon for the weekend and a stray sausage.

Planning a baking blitz at weekend to use up some of the hoard, lots of lovely recipes to drool over on Joy of Baking being the main inspiration.:rotfl:
