  • Howdy Peeps!

I'm soooo late checking in this week, so won't join but will lurk and keep my eye on you all.

Back to work today after all of last week off with the flu. Great for not spending the pennies and even better for losing weight - 10lb in 7 days, woop!

Hope you're all having productive week xxx

"So much to do, so much to see. So what's wrong with taking the back streets?"
  • Just updated spreadsheet and without using my grocery budget again (!) I am currently in the red with -£1.49!
Got just £3.02 left til Monday now (payday!) and thats the remainder of my grocery budget so I better not need anything for the rest of the week as I don't want to use my credit card (last used on Nov 11th!)
Have £18 left in my petrol budget as I used £3 from that to buy a drink at the cinema! Normally take a bottle of water but completely forgot.
    Bad week!!!

True ...I think I need to do a placement (still deciding which course as it starts in sept ). I help alot at school anyway and its so enjoyable. Its been interesting to 'pick up' tips on how they deal with situations so I think it would deff help the course.

    Ive spent £1 on lunch....so £9 left I think

    Hope everyones doing well

  • Spent £4.32 on some MORE tupperwares and couple of house warming presents (yes, tupperwares)... So that's £7.32 spent out of £15... doing worse than last week :(
  • Completely blown my budget this week despite a couple of NSDs at the beginning. Will try again next week! :-(
    Debt free since 18/11/2011
  • Evening bugeteers,

    pink_numbers I must confess I am also a tuperware addict I have cupboard full:D

ticketinspector don't worry too much the first week is always the worst, it does get easier

spends today were £2 in work canteen and £2.60 on ice cream at the cinema. I went to see A Serious Man which was really good.

We are inching closer to the weekend. Woohoo:j
    Weekly Spend Challenge: £0/£30

  • pointypenguin, we just got a huge new freezer, so OF COURSE I need tuperware to fill the freezer with! :D

theticketinspector: pointy is right, it is always hard when you first try this challenge - I failed at it for months at £50/week, but now, I can get down to £10 to £15 a week, but it took a loooooong time for me. It will get easier, you will do the challenge some week, and other weeks you want to ignore, but you keep coming back until your average weekly spend becomes the level you are happy with :)

How long have you been a paramedic? Did you have to do a degree to get into it or is it on the job training?

I trained on the job; however, unfortunately, that appears to be being phased out, as training is becoming more and more scarce, and more and more applicants with a BSc (Hons) in Paramedic Science are being taken on instead.

I remember one man coming to me with divorce papers from his wife citing violence who sat in front of me and said "yeah i did it, so can you get me the house?".... that was a toughy.

Rather you, than me - I think I would have walked out, to say the least!
