Even if MBNA did approve you, the details wouldn't be on your credit report for some weeks, so they wouldn't have a clue about that.
Odd though. At one point, I had somewhere around 8k available to me in credit limits and overdrafts and that was more than my annual income.Plus rather than "from looking at my credit report a reason for the decline may be.....", I just put something along the lines of "I notice the reason for declining the application was x, I strongly disagree with this" :rotfl: So I think they get the point I'm not too impressed with computer says no!

Merry Christmas everyone. I turned 19 yesterday (I'm getting old..er :rotfl:). Thankfully a lot of searches fall off my file in January as that was the month I applied for a lot of credit.
I've applied to volunteer as a ChildLine (NSPCC) person who takes phone calls from children etc. I thought it would be a nice gesture to go along with my current job of working with Special Needs/Disabled kids which I love doing.
I've got to make up my mind what I want to do for university very soon.
1) Do BSc Computing and become an ICT teacher (I'm good with computers)
2) Do BSc Psychology and go into working with children which I'd love, however it would be very hard to get a job and I have no previous knowledge of Psychology, unlike computing.
Have a great christmas everyone.0 -

That's great news! It's important you stay debt free now! :jWe’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Haha, I've got the Equifax alert thing through Capital One, got a notification about having a new alert, then saw the new alert was an account, was hoping it was MBNA, but obviously it wasn't (even if they've accepted me it wouldn't appear yet), was just JD Williams!:rotfl:Merry Christmas everyone. I never knew BSc Computing could get you into teaching? Would you have to take other awards etc afterwards? I'm in the first year of Computing at the moment, so although I don't think I'd teach it would be an option (I've helped with teaching the Basic Computing courses for Adult Learning before, and it was good to see them improve (some of them even sent me emails at the end saying how it was great they could now use email!))I lurk a lot on here and I have read lots of advice to other people and taken it on board and I am now debt free:j I would like to wish everyone a very Happy Christmas and good fortune to all in the 2010 >>>>and I have just had an increase on my vanquis card to £1500 but clear it every month to get lots of 000000 on my credit fileThanks ElkyElky I have learned my lesson I wont go back to living on credit it soon catches up with you and drags you down it's so good not to be scared to open my mail have a great Christmas :beer:0 -

That's great working with Special Needs & Disabled kids as well as helping ChildLine!

That's a great story! Being debt free now must be great, and the experience will help you for the future
You have to do a PGCE in ICT Secondary/Primary after your degree which takes 1 year.0 -
The information that you have provided indicates that the level of credit you are currently committed to, in relation to your stated income, is higher than our present lending criteria allows.
Are they having a laugh!? It's £100 with Capital One and £350 with Natwest (Unless MBNA have approved me and given me some tasty limit, which I doubt!!)
