Ouch, sorry about the 15k pay cut man! I don't earn yet but that must be hard! Good you're debt free though :)

Oh I got some letter earlier from Provident Financial or whatever they are, offering me £50 to £500 quid.... as much as I'd like to grab it just for the hell of it, I'm assuming they charge some stupidly high rate so binned it - how can they just write to me like that though!? Are they tied in with Aqua or someone? I've never applied for a loan because I have the things!
if you have ever applied to vanquis then that wheree your details have come from as they are the same parent company

Avoid like the plague - doorstep lending mate - http://www.providentpersonalcredit.com/wc/

    apr is astonishing
Ah thanks, that's mental no way I'd pay that even if I needed it! The worst thing was what my mate picked up, she realised it wasn't true, but it was a "cheque" to me for £500. Her first thought was that it was real, then I said it was from those lot and she realised it was fake - but surely that type of thing is unfair marketing!? It's like what you could have.... but they don't tell you the stupid APR!

Thanks, just seen the Vanquis Bank bit on their page, yea I applied there a while back.

I actually thought it might be a credit card at first then realised I had no pending apps so unless it was my pending debit card it wasn't - would've been well annoyed if that had turned up just before Aqua!

    Wow http://www.providentpersonalcredit.com/Documents/World%20Cup%20Hamper%20Brochure.pdf - I'd be surprised if that's worth anywhere near £75!!!

After 6 months of putting it off i finally realised today that my relationship with Vanquis had run its course.
I owe nothing on the card and i have paid my statement off in full for about the last 7 months so there is no trailing interest owed.I rang Vanquis this morning to close my account and was informed that i could not do this until i had received my next statement showing a nil balance

Has anybody had any experience of this or are Vanquis taking me for a muppet?

vanquis are the muppets, their staff are thick, not very perceptive or well trained, they have conned me out of around £50 in late defaults even though i've made payment on time and they have reported my account as having late payments, i did write a letter but they did !!!! all, really need some advice about these cowboys!
