Elky get rid of the Silver. I can't wait to close mine (never thought I would be saying that) The limit is not big enough and the APR too high!

As soon as I have had mine for 6 months I will close it.

I called up and they have provisionally approved a 2.5k credit card and the standard £500 overdraft.

Afternoon all.

Well after coming home yesterday from offshore i am now back offshore. Didnt even get home for 24hrs

Its money in the bank tho and saves me from spending it.

They have pre-approved you from the information you've given them so far & once they receive your sign application they will search your Experian file from top to bottom..!

Does any HSBC history help contribute to a successful decision from First Direct? I want to move to them and wondered if having an HSBC helps..

They have already done a credit check however I have been told that they re credit check on return of the forms.

I am led to believe that the first credit check confirms your address and no adverse and the second is the manual assessment and account opening.

What was your file like?

Yes, they asked my permission to check my HSBC account.

Good luck to those who applied for FD account. Ironically I applied for FD bank account 4-5 years ago and was accepted but i decided not to use the account and several weeks later closed the account!!

Still i might consider applying again later on this year and see what happens.
