Have CapitalOne Progess at £300, with my 4th statement being printed on the 25th (5 days) so my credit limit should go up (to £500 I'm guessing).

I haven't applied for anything in a few months and the searches are down from 60 to 50 now. I'm not going to apply for anything either. I've got a CC with a limit that's fine for me, and first direct account, so no need for anything more.

I've been rather application mad and havnt been successful in any of my applications
All i wanna do is clear vanquis and my sygma silver and then i'll have a nice available credit in my pocket.
enough for me and the family anyways.

Is there anything wrong with your credit file, besides the searches?

1 late payment november 2008 but other than that nothing.
credit to income ratio is like 1:2 ie half my annual income is available in credit.
available credit to debt is about 50%

so i reckon i seem over stretched to creditors

I'm having trouble deciding which other credit card to close, any opinions?

I'm thinking either my Silver card or my BOS card(but I've held this for the longest).

Silver? It's got a lower limit and higher APR... and you've held BOS for longer so it's probably best to keep that one going?

What i am hopefully trying to do is to keep my barclaycard with the 6.9% for life,which which then means i have 1 balance transfer card,and in a few months apply for a purchases credit card,i am getting rid of the flybe card when the 0% runs out,and going to cancel my capital one card by christmas,have you thought about this yourself getting yourself down to 2/3 cards....
personally i would get rid of your silver card....
