Nah ring em mate - do it now! Just say you want it increasing to £500 or whatever and they will do it there and then....

Is it not worth using that credit search for 1st though? Also if I go in branch I can try to get them to score me for everything?

A HSBC search will not affect anything with First mate, they will see that you're wanting to change because HSBC cannot meet your needs, they may well be able to. As I mentioned - read page one of my 1st direct thread cos someone on there confirms that they were refused a loan with HSBC so went to 1st who accepted them (1st's criteria is 10x harder than HSBC).....

In fact it was shelf stacker who worked for them at the time :rotfl: :rotfl:

I'd not bother with an account review, they cannot up your CC cos it is new so will be declined as breach of credit score rule (i.e. auto decline) and unless you want a loan, why bother?

This is true, I'll call them tomorrow. I would like to up this to £1000.

Hopefully they will approve it if not do they say for example the system has recommended £500....

Mate HSBC don't work that way, if you ask for £1000 they will say yes or no - not "we can only allow £700" or whatever - it will be a yes/no answer! Thus you should ring and mumble saying i'm unsure, what do you suggest and they will tell you - if not, it is cos the system is not showing anything - it doesn't always show o/d's in the review screen you see - cos its short term borrowing, to them!

So ring (do it now you wimp) and say you want to increase to around £700 and they will do it. As your CC is only a £1k limit, they will not make your o/d the same - you have to aim lower mate.....

Do what I done, open a second account and then get an o/d built into that at the time you apply (in branch) and they will usually allow £500 o/d on a second account - that's what I got (well mine is £505 for some reason)

LOL, HSBC is 24hr - oooer I gave you the Plus/Advance number mate..... they are open and will do it for you straight away if you ring, look at the back of your card top right corner for the cust services number you ring

Bank of Cyprus is still a handy wee parachute account to have, I use it for money laundering purposes and they are fine with it :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

The process is very quick with them, when I applied 18 months ago for their account + credit card, got the forms sent to sign within few days. All forms sent back then few days after that got the very posh welcome pack for the 1st account but the letter also said that they could not give me the credit card at that stage. Waited to have been 6 months with them and applied over the phone & was offered the Gold credit card with £3000 (what I requested). 2 months ago was accepted with them for a £13000 loan and again the money was in my account within seconds...
