Hi everyone. How are you all? I am sending a letter to Barclays asking them to re-open my Bank Account or open a new account. I have a high number of searches and Barclays automatically decline if you have a high amount of searches.

Interesting, they did the same with me - can you post up the letters and are you going to appeal? Why do you think they have closed the accounts?

    mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, thats so interesting

sooooooo there holding a default against you registered in 2002 which by uk law was no longer relevent to be held against you and shown on ure file 2 years ago (ie 6 years)

tell you why i find that particularly interesting as i bumped an rbs credit card in 2002 myself and DEFAULTED at that time, and theyve only recently opened a visa debit card with a £250 cheque guarantee facility for me and that only on there standard non monthly fee interest bearing current account......

    BIZZARE........................

what you recommend to do? cause i did send them a full copy of my credit file with my 1st letter, Really would like to use the accounts there
  • im not sure mate, i can tell you i also opened a NATIONWIDE account aswell and its fantastic plus they only ever search experian for everything ie only one agency search instead of the rbs standard 2................................
  • bottom line with rbs mate is if theyve flagged u up as bumpin them there gonna now want rid of u and not really help u in the slightest i had the same probs with bank of scotland few years back theyd realised id previously bumped them and wouldnt give me anythin there after...........

reason i wanted RBS is cause my ex banks with them and if needs money for wee one etc or something its alot quicker for transfering as same day, Also they are in my local town instead of travelling 10miles + to goto my bank
