If its anything like mine its complete bollox, they still have 2 entries on there which have been paid off, :D, It always amuses me that they state this gives you instant access to any anomolies in your credit file, then take 3 months to update your records.

Interesting but unreliable would be the best way of summing them up

Your 2 entries which you say have been payed off should then come up as settled on your account..

Yep, they should but Experian state that it takes some time for them to be notified by companies of any changes - so much for their promise of immediate notification if there are any extensive changes to your credit record.

That said, I like the statement 'settled' so much that I am going to cancel my mobile phone contract and go onto PAYG because a mobile phone contract is listed as being an outstanding credit agreement on the record :D

    Hi,

Have been reading this thread with great interest. I have had problems in the past with credit, and have 5 defaults registered during 2008/09 (youngest one is nearly 1 year old). Of course, this means its virtually impossible for me to get any sort of credit (even been turned down by Vanquis!)

I opened a NatWest Step account as a secondary account, and have had this running for a few months. I decided to upgrade this to a Current Plus and I was accepted (albeit taking a month longer than necessary due to forms being lost in the post). I was warned at the time that the dreaded AVU would close the account even after being accepted, but so far this hasn't happened (account almost been open for a whole week, and am already successfully using it).

Got my full-auth card and chequebook the other day. From what I understand, once you have a good turnover and keep up a nice average balance, Natwest can be quite generous with the pre-approved offers and hopefully should get given a chequecard and an overdraft (NEVER to be used) in about 6 months without a credit search.

Maybe I was just lucky, but perhaps Natwest have relaxed their criteria recently. I certainly wasn't expecting to be accepted so soon.
