The Sub Prime Credit Thread - Part IV

Ok gents, lets not turn debate in to an e-Fight.
I think the underwriter at Sygma may have mixed his/her words up when explaining the score decline - you may have failed the credit score full stop i.e. they could not rate you for their 24% tier card therefore declined?Since when has the world of computer software design been about what people want? This is a simple question of evolution. The day is quickly coming when every knee will bow down to a silicon fist, and you will all beg your binary gods for mercy.0 -

Niddy, there's no need for that sort of language
This is a great thread and there's some very useful anecdotal knowledge and advice to be gleaned. That said, you guys can be unbelievably territorial about your subject!0 -

When I go onto their website, however, it states that they won't accept anyone with negative credit history. Is this accurate?
I have a default from 2006 which is now closed and will be marked as "partially satisfied" and don't want to waste my time (or further dent my credit score with another application that definitely won't go through!)
They seem to be hit and miss TBH. I applied for the silver and got knocked back, no ccj's or defaults. i do/did have an arrangement to pay that was returned to normal account status 12 months ago and they told me to do one! My debt to income ratio isacceptable as is the amount of available credit i am using, with a few searches ie 3 in last 6 months..so goodness knows! Lots of ppl have had great success with them! You never know until you apply0 -

Just a quick one, not cc related lol. I was involved in a car accident a few months ago and today checked my credit report (experian) to find that the 3rd parties insurance company have made an 'enquiry' re me....anyone know why this would be? Its deffo the 3rd parties insurance company - i knew the name as soon as i saw it, copy and pasted it to google and it is them. They are being real ar^es at the minute with me even tho the 3rd party has admitted liability, so just curious
Anyone help on this one? Its really, really annoying me. I have no idea why, but it just is! I know it doesnt impact my file etc as its only an enquiry but WHY would they be searching me? I certinally havent spoken to them/given them permission to do so, infact, do i even need to give them permission as its only an 'enquiry'0 -

Just off the phone to vanquis as when i closed my account few months back they never did close it.
They ensure me thats it closed now and i was over balance of around £5 and i asked so when will you send out a cheque for the refund. They told me they wont be sending me anything.
Letter will be sent to head office today with the card cut up0 -

Be that as it may, there's no need to get so irate. I think people are capable of screening out what is and isn't useful information on the thread.0 -
