Just found out this:- 350 jobs axed as Barclaycard makes decision to close call centre.(march 2010). full story:- http://news.scotsman.com/scotland/350-jobs-axed-as-Barclaycard.6165281.jp
I dont know how others feel about this but i am furious about it.
I am now in the process of writing a letter to head office to cancel my barclaycard with immediate effect.
How can they justify record profits yet axe UK jobs.0 -

Re. Sygma silver card - I had got the impression that they were (close) to being a subprime card and had considered applying (recently accepted for a Capital One card, Vanquis made me wait 5 weeks with no decision and so I cancelled my application with them).
When I go onto their website, however, it states that they won't accept anyone with negative credit history. Is this accurate?
I have a default from 2006 which is now closed and will be marked as "partially satisfied" and don't want to waste my time (or further dent my credit score with another application that definitely won't go through!)0 -
Sygma has quite a few credit cards, out of all these cards sygma do the silver mastercard which by hearing on other peoples discussions that this card is the easiest card to get,not 100% sure though,it does say wont accept negative history but there are people getting accepted with a little adverse history,it does states that there maximum credit is only £5000 which make you believe this is more towards sub-prime than prime.0

My Capitalone started at £1000 and went to £1500 on 4th statement.Since when has the world of computer software design been about what people want? This is a simple question of evolution. The day is quickly coming when every knee will bow down to a silicon fist, and you will all beg your binary gods for mercy.0

Although I agree, they're a business and it must be cheaper to operate elsewhere. The profits they get are on par with football, obscene amounts of money - but by taking this horrible action it ensure they are going to stay at that kind of level

While you're out of the overdraft, consider cancelling it immediately. You can reap the benefits of being in credit for a change. We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
