If a lender asks you to send proof of address such as a bank statement, does that usually mean you've been accepted?

    Dear ElkyElky

Thank you for your recent application.

The Bank has a regulatory duty to ensure we have accurate and secure customer records to assist the combat of Financial Crime and Terrorism, which includes money laundering and identity theft.

As part of these final security checks, we would be grateful if you will provide us with one of the following documents:

A bank or building society statement.
A gas, electricity or landline telephone bill.
An inland revenue notice of coding.
A solicitor's letter confirming a recent UK home purchase.

Please ensure the document you provides states your name and address.
I think some ask before they even start to process your application :( Hopefully it's a good sign though.... :)

Halifax did it to me, suppose people accept it if companies give full reasoning for stupidness like ID checks (why some can verify you online and why some can't is always a strange one though)

Who regulates Expieran? I'm complaining about those donkeys. Natpest actually advised me (one of the few decent things those lot have done!) not to change my address etc because it would harm my report, and as long as I don't move out for good I'm allowed to use the existing address. If they tell me that, and then give me a credit card using those details, then I consider that to be right and that's the end of it. Experian don't see it that way, so we'll see how a complaint goes down. They better not trash my file because of it:mad:

I still wanna see these people post their acceptance letter and cards cos i'm not convinced - and these are my mates as well, but hey - when something so strange happens you need proof then we all start to believe..... I spoke to them myself an hour back and they told me again you cannot apply for more than one card in any 90 day period or it will be declined.

I then said that was bollox cos some of my mates on MSE are confirming they have been accepted a month after a previous application and she laughed and sai "have you met them and seen their cards" to which I gathered what she was saying.... :p:p

So here I am, my plan was to wait a month then do the same and apply to Flybe but now i'm not so sure.... maybe it was a system glitch, I dunno but with crap APR's like that they can shove it (plus I don't have anything to transfer over to the card to benefit a whopping 6 months 0% on BT's) :rotfl: :rotfl:
