My car had its MOT today and it needs a new front exhaust and the heatshield replaced. This will come to more than £100. Would it be advisable to put it on a credit card or will I just use my Maestro?

What's the point in a £100 deposit if they then let you withdraw it straight away  or is there something I'm missing? Like o2 I had to give them £150 and they keep hold of it forever, I thought that's how deposits were supposed to work?

With Halifax you have to deposit at least £100 to trigger the production of the card and cheque book. It's just the way they work I'm afraid. Shows your serious intent I suppose.

I didn't get a CGC but I still had to deposit £100. I did get a chequebook though. Does it matter to you if you get a CGC?
