When you make a payment to a credit card from online banking it is made via bank transfer. Since its Natwest we're talking about its probably sent as a Faster Payment, which means that they'll receive the money within 2 hours, but they won't mark your account as payment received straight away.

If they do say you've gone overlimit and the payment was sent as a Faster Payment then you can make a complaint, because they receive the money within 2 hours of it being sent.
Yea it said they'll have the money today, so hopefully when they work out if I'm over the limit or not, they realise I'm not because of the pending payment
It won't affect credit rating no. It only shows as late if you do not pay one month etc..... slight overlimit won't affect you but may affect any increment you get (i.e. 6 months from now)
Ah good. HHAHAHAHAHAHAHA @ any increment. More chance of pigs flying than those jokers giving me a higher limit! :rotfl:
With credit cards mate the payment (albeit instant) doesn't credit the balance of their CC immediately. HSBC say to expect it to reflect the balance within 3 days and it does take 3 days as well.... (HSBC FP to HSBC CC)

No recourse for complaint though, shouldn't be sailing so close to his credit limit - sorry, but that's just the way it is i'm afraid..... Natwest will bin any complaint, i'd suggest using a sob story and playing the 'please don't charge me' plea as opposed to going in all guns blazing cos they do not have to refund him :D
If they gave me a decent credit limit (like the £500 falsely advertised in branch......) I wouldn't be so close :p. But yea I'll go for the sob story. Problem is they think I used a sob story before when my current account got wrongly charged (that wasn't even my fault, but those lot seem to think it is!), so they'll get funny about me doing it again. Ah well, maybe a threat to close the account might work

Three of my CC's (Capital One, Vanquis & Co-op) credit my a/c the same day that a faster payment is sent. Even with Aqua, when I send via BACS, they credit my a/c the same day I sent it (but that's because it was sent from a Halifax a/c).

Funnily enough my Vanquis and Citi card are both instant (well the same day) but Bank of Ireland and HSBC both take upto 3 days...... innit strange?

I think they quote 3 days so you cannot sue them or whatever if it did happen to take that long, but in theory it should be much faster...

    Yet another bank get-out-clause! :D

  • hi.. just a quick question. actually was going through my credit report and found that 'three mobile' did not report any thing for the past three months, and it is not not even marked as 'U' , just been left blank , however they have again marked it with a '0' for the month of novemeber.
Now does it affect my rating or score any how or is it fine that even though they have not updated any thing for the past three months and now have marked it with the '0' just for november, or will it show as a adverse or any thing for the lenders ?
  • It is fine - don;t worry about it...... some lenders don't report at all.

But, I have to ask - why go through your credit report at like 4am? lol - I know what i'd be doing (if not at work).....

A lot of my friends from uni stayed up to see if their bursary was paid (well some were doing constructive things like assignments, the rest of us were playing FIFA). After staying up til 2:30 waiting for Online Banking to work, it becomes very easy to suddenly still be up now! :p

And as for 3, I can't wait to get my other report in about May time (just before I start my next spree of applications). Want to see what 3 are doing with my contract. I've got a £0 a month one, spent 10p first month and haven't even had the sim in a phone since!

Hmmm .. good you told me mate :p.. just a little too wasted  .. Anyway may I ask if you have any idea if 'paydayuk' reports when a loan is settled or defaulted to any of the CRA's
