ANY BLIPS? One late payment bad news???? I know AMEX are strict, but i do feel some people get AMEX because it reflect on their credit status and it makes them feel good and superior to others. Its all marketing and crap.0 -

Good good. I'm trying to sort out the situation with my money today before I miss more payments. :mad:We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

I checked my online banking the other day to find I had a late payment charge on my credit card (first one ever!!!!). Turns out I had been a bit eager and made my last payment (quite a large one) a day before my latest statement was generated so it went onto my last statement period.
Anyways phoned Lloyds and they were gr8, refunded charge and said that it won't affect me at all. They said BS is still fine and wont be affected as charge has been reversed and nothing adverse will be shown on file .... phew!!!! Note to self, pay more attention from now on
Hopefully HSBC will be the same with you xCurrent Accounts with Lloyds TSB and Bank of Scotland

Can someone explain to me how nationwide is one of the hardest current accounts to have, surely if your credit report is good you can get any bank you want..
No No it doesn't quite work like that. They are extremely careful on who to accept. If you have a couple late payments, but all rest is clean, they will weight that heavily against credit scoring. Also if you want the full account, then you must use it as your main account.
I have a clean credit file apart from 1,2 and 3 late payment markers from 2004. That will drop off sometime in Oct of this year and my credit file will have no adverse whatsover.
First Direct, Coventry, Nationwide, Leeds BS are hard to pass if you have a couple of blips on CF. But someone here got it even with a default (albeit 5 years old) so there is always hope.0 -

Amex is not mate! Amex is outdated and streamlined - they used to be exclusive but now any tom-d!ck-and-harry can get one (well you know what I mean).....
I'd say that there are better cards out there, such as those that offer better APR's...2010 - year of the troll
