I'd really appreciate your thoughts on my situation. I had good credit throughout my student years (presumably, because I had credit thrown at me left right and centre) but everything went downhill after I left university. I got a CCJ from the water board (and the water board trust paid it off - makes you wonder why they bothered in the first place!), missed payments, unpaid overdrafts, evicted from a housing association flat and left with arrears etc etc. Fast forward 5 years and I have moved house about 5 times, I don't even know the dates that I moved (so difficult to be remotely accurate when filling forms out), am still paying off rent arrears, and in the past year another unpaid overdraft (student account) that I had actually forgotten about has cropped up.
I am not in debt, but am in a real crisis with credit. I have got an Abbey Basic account which they won't upgrade, even though I've been with them for years. I have been in full-time employment with the same employer for 5 years. I can't get credit for a phone contract (my mum had to do it for me), or some of the subprime credit cards mentioned on here.
The other year I got a pre-paid creditbuilder card, but missed the last payment. The customer services girl told me it "didn't matter" because although I had been using the card properly for 11 out of the 12 months, I hadn't 'registered' it, therefore the information wouldn't be reported to the CRAs. I've since found out this is probably not the case...
I am about to get on the electoral register, but this is the only thing I can think of that will help me. If I can't get a subprime Capital One card or Barclaycard, is there any hope for me? Have I burnt my bridges with the Cashplus creditbuilder card?
Any advice would be much appreciated.
Once you put your name on the electrol register then you will find it easier to apply for Aqua,Capital one and Vanquis subprime cards.
I would wait about 6 months -1 year after you have been using the subprime cards before you apply for barclaycard.0 -

fist port of call is to apply to equifax call credit and experian to see EXACTLY how many LINKED addreses are on there and what its saying with regards to voters role
IF u jumpin about these past 5 years HASNT been reported to ANY of the CRAS me personally i wouldnt MENTION it AT ALL creditors like stability and a house a years doesnt really do it for them ALTHOUGH IF it says about certain addresses etc YOU WILL have to declare them or ull risk CIFAS and application fraud and YOU DONT wanna go there.......
so yeah dependent on whats already been lionked to ure file as some creditors WILL LINK ure previous addreses onto ure file it may be better just to say youve only been at ure current address these past few years and ull also know if creditbuilder settled ure account or recorded a missed payment etc and take it from there really but you need to KNOW THAT INFO FIRST
:A
ALSO APPLY FOR A CLYDESDALE BASIC BANK ACCOUNT it comes with a maestro debit facility and is NOT CREDIT SCORED also good for direct debits and free to pay bills at counter etc
ALSO if you can get a £100 deposit together TMOBILE will almost certainly give u a contract n ure own name they did me a few years back and i had ccjs at the time and allsorts although they said id need to give them a £100 deposit etc
hope this helps
CONSIDER THIS ASWELL AND TAKE NOTE OF IT:
if you manage to streamline ure adresses ie not declare them in future if they havent been linked YOU WILL have to fall of the application radar for a year UNTILL ure CURRENT searches vanish
IE: dont go telling someone uve stayed at your current address for 2 years when uve told someone else uve lived there 6 months WOULDNT MATCH UP AND AGAIN UD RISK CIFAS
but yeah if you only make ONE more application this year id bag urself a clydesdale basic account as this will give u the maestro debit card and direct debit facilty as the abbey basic has no debit facility and as im sure you know urself is pretty USELESS

Total scam
Any decent employer wouldn't charge you for uniform or stationery, and even if they did it would be from your first salary payment.

This is a simple question of evolution. The day is quickly coming when every knee will bow down to a silicon fist, and you will all beg your binary gods for mercy.0
