I know, but it was my first credit card in many years. Only in my mid 20's. I was naughty when i was at Sixth form. :o

I hope they do increase it to £500 that would come in handy. :)

From what was being said in the Cap1 forums, the increases were as follows.

    £100 to £200
    £200 to £500
    £500 to £1100
    £1100 to £1700

My limit did follow this path and i now sit at the £1700 limit.

I am hoping for an increase on the 8th when my statment is produced as some have posted recently that they have had an increase after years of waiting:eek:

    Oh well that's good.

So after my fourth statement it should increase to £500, when or should it increase again? Or is it complete guess work?

My limit reached £1100 after 2 years(2003) and i got my increase to £1700 in 2008.

I was upgraded to a premier card years ago but that got discontinued and was given a classic card when i got my new card.

Go for it Zach. Let show Natwest what muppets they are!
Pah it only lets me have 3 quotes at once so cut the other one. I applied for another Sygma thing today and got turned down so don't know what chance I'd have with Flybe lol :rotfl:

My third capital one statement has been produced! On count down to see what my limit will be increased to next month!
    Good luck!
Drop natwest and goto First Direct or HSBC.

I hate natwest with a passion. When i was doing my apprentiship at college they screwed me for over £600 in 1 month. There excuse was that my wage cheques had not cleared yet they let me withdraw the money.

I have also banked with A/L, Lloyds TSB and Barclays as well as HSBC and First Direct. I highly recomend FD or HSBC but FD is the most difficault account to be accepted for.

If your Credit File is clear of Defaults and CCJ's and have no missed payments then i would go for First Direct as long as you have internet access.
First direct are part of HSBC and use HSBC for branch access.

    Hope this helps.
I can't, I've got Natpest's student overdraft so can't ditch them until I leave this place. I don't like them, but they give me a free railcard (well they took their time sending it, but it got here in the end!) and overdraft so they'll have to do for now. If I got accepted for any other card I'd tell them where to stick their credit card though, that way they'd make no money off me - I never use the debit card so they don't get merchant fees, and max out the overdraft (by transfering to other accounts) so must cost them money....:D

Oh and despite turning off paper billing they sent me what was practically an entire trees worth of paper the other day! Grrr!!! I've seen smaller Argos catalogues!

    Another Default Querie.

O2 have just informed me of a defualt today (through CRA Alerts)

The thing is that I stopped paying this back in 2003 and has just showed as missed payments (5) for about 6 years. Last year I asked the CRA to contact them and default me but O2 refused.

Is O2 allowed to default me over 6 years after the last payment made?

Just getting my credit sorted after many years and now this happens.

    Cheers for any advice!

Just paid for my report through Experian (£3.99 CapOne) And even though the late payments on the above account was shown as late right up to a few months ago the default has backdated to May 2004. So will drop off about May this year. I was worried there for a while thinking that I had another 6 years to wait for this to fall off.

    Hi everyone,

I'd really appreciate your thoughts on my situation. I had good credit throughout my student years (presumably, because I had credit thrown at me left right and centre) but everything went downhill after I left university. I got a CCJ from the water board (and the water board trust paid it off - makes you wonder why they bothered in the first place!), missed payments, unpaid overdrafts, evicted from a housing association flat and left with arrears etc etc. Fast forward 5 years and I have moved house about 5 times, I don't even know the dates that I moved (so difficult to be remotely accurate when filling forms out), am still paying off rent arrears, and in the past year another unpaid overdraft (student account) that I had actually forgotten about has cropped up.

I am not in debt, but am in a real crisis with credit. I have got an Abbey Basic account which they won't upgrade, even though I've been with them for years. I have been in full-time employment with the same employer for 5 years. I can't get credit for a phone contract (my mum had to do it for me), or some of the subprime credit cards mentioned on here.

The other year I got a pre-paid creditbuilder card, but missed the last payment. The customer services girl told me it "didn't matter" because although I had been using the card properly for 11 out of the 12 months, I hadn't 'registered' it, therefore the information wouldn't be reported to the CRAs. I've since found out this is probably not the case...

I am about to get on the electoral register, but this is the only thing I can think of that will help me. If I can't get a subprime Capital One card or Barclaycard, is there any hope for me? Have I burnt my bridges with the Cashplus creditbuilder card?

Any advice would be much appreciated.
