They can and do.kerryberryboo wrote: »Applied for a BOS/Halifax account - I mean surely they can't give me a sort code and account number if I haven't been accepted??
*fingers crossed*
They allocate a Sortcode and Acc No then if you fail the credit score you get knocked back. :cool:Since when has the world of computer software design been about what people want? This is a simple question of evolution. The day is quickly coming when every knee will bow down to a silicon fist, and you will all beg your binary gods for mercy.0 -
Because they're a bunch of donkeys. I don't know. They wouldn't even give me a student account when my file was fine :mad:usedandabused wrote: »hey zack
why wont halifax give you an OD?
It's probably best to say no to that, then ask for one later - it means the score is lower, so there is more chance you will be taken. e.g. if the required score with an overdraft is 860 and without is 800, if your "score" is 820 then you would get the one without (and can ask for a overdraft later on) but wouldn't get it after saying you wanted it straight up. Those numbers are made up by the way, each company scores differently and nobody knows exactly how they score - hence CRA scores being uselesskerryberryboo wrote: »Ok.... applying........
Hmmmmm
said yes I do want an overdraft......:rotfl:
Now it says thank you, gives me a sort code and account number, asks me to register for online services, then says it will send me a password manually within next few days.
What does this mean? Have I got an account with overdraft with them????:o
Can it really be this simple!?!?!?
My credit file is not perfect but it's alright, one old default sitting there on it. Lots of green 0 recently.
Who's the account with? Halifax put my account in online banking but it says "application decision" underneath the account number, clicking that told me to check in a week - when I checked it now says decline. If you're Halifax and it's the same then click that, it might say check back later (meaning it's been referred) or might say straight accept/decline....0 -

The nice lady at Capital One complaints department is supposed to be phoning me back today to discuss my £100 credit limit. She previously said there was a problem on her systems regarding my account and it was showing as the Progress card. I told her to look back at my application and it'll show I applied for the Plus card, which she did and said I was correct.
I wonder, if I ask nicely, she'll give me 2k limit?
