Oh mate I know he was, to be fair I was always under the impression MBNA were a strict 0% policy on adverse; period. But if someone confirmed they were accepted with a default then that's fine - also the confirmation came from someone who has no reason to tell porkies thus I obviously believe them...

Remember most lenders work the same, its just MBNA are strict at the best of times, but then if you have a mate working there you just ring them and hey, bobs your uncle..... :rotfl: :rotfl:

Seriously though, the fact the default was 4 months away from 6 years old is why he was probably accepted though.... :D

    Good news for me....

I have had a sub prime Cap One card with a £200 limit for years. I have never had an increase in limit in all the years I have had it.

Today, I logged into my online account and suddenly noticed that my limit has gone up to £950.00. I know this isn't a huge limit but its still an large increase and I am still pleased.

I still have defaults showing from 2007 on all my credit reports but do also have a number of green zeros and satisfied on time credit accounts showing too.

I am obviously pleased with the increase without even asking but am still surprised given the state of my CRA reports. I tried for main stream cards with Natwest (2 months ago) and Halifax recently (two weeks ago) and they both said 'bog off' even thoough I bank with both of them!!

This is an exceptionally rare situation. You'll have to share your secrets!

Who knew Capital One's systems were capable of credit limit increases!!!!

I would share...if only I knew what they were!!

Cap One have always told me not to ask for increases as it's them that continually monitor your account and status that decides increases.

I always pay off in full as well so they've not even had any interest out of me. Not that I'm complaining of course..............:D

I was stuck with the same limit for over a year on my classic card. I've since applied for the better Plus card and was given a limit much lower than I got on my classic card. I'm at £200 now and that won't even cover a decent shopping trip.

Some people have gone years without a single increase from them so you must be very lucky.

Wow an increase from Capital One!!

Anyone know any good phone sites? Insurance have decided to pay me cash because they have none in stock, now I need a phone lol. Or I'll get one Thursday when I'm going to go meet up with uni mates (this place is so dead everyone's gone home for easter!). Getting a phone and laptop on credit would be nice if there are any that do it interest free!
