17 years is nothing if he's done what you say he's done! Personally, as someone who wants to get into that, I can't believe anyone would be stupid enough to put their whole career at risk by even doing that (and getting picked up by the internal fraud)....what is more unbelievable is that if it did happen he then told other people about it at pool! That's just asking for trouble!

Exactly mate - bearing in mind the fact I was internal fraud and know the MBNA management and underwriters....

Fact is that all businesses (especially regulated) should have a governance and risk or (internal audit) dept and these are designed to break processes to alleviate fraud.... no way on this planet will any bank allow the same member of staff to open an account and change any pre-authorised system generated limits - it must be overridden by another grade....

Otherwise, we'd all get jobs as underwriters and do this exact same thing! tsk, some people have no idea who they are sharing bandwidth, with! :rotfl:

Oh and as I believe NID is working rather than in a bedsit on the dole! NID do you know if unis credit check you for accounting/finance courses? For a lot of people it would be pointless (they'd have no/very limited history) but I suppose it would show up some bad people....

I am working, ive just declared last week I got redundancy lol - what was the reason for that? Ermmm, oh yea - cos it is true :rotfl: :rotfl:

Unis Credit - dunno mate, i'd have thought the criteria would be lesser being there is no financial gain to be had.... :D

Also, thanks for highlighting the default - Now I know for a fact that it is not true - MBNA will auto decline you with a default (or the default is fabricated)?. :D

No they don't not if the default is over 3 years old. I've had Virgin card sonce Nov 07 when I had a default due to drop off Oct 08 - 0% for 15 months and £4500 credit limit.
Mama read so much about the dangers of drinking alcohol and eating chocolate that she immediately gave up reading.

Ive stated in the past that companies will ignore defaults +3 years old if your credit file is otherwise squeaky clean - thanks for confirming that MBNA do this as well....

We know that Tesco and a few others did, but its good to know that MBNA use that ethos.... :D:D

Plus I have no derogatory data on my file and I was subcontracted in by the banks - but I also know of 3 other bank employees on here with defaults or worse so you're right... :p:p

Haha, exactly it would be madness if people could pretty much do what they want!

Ah I didn't see about the redundancy, haven't been on here much, sorry to hear that though!

Yea that's true, I know some courses require you to be vetted etc to make sure you'd be suitable for employment when you graduate, but I guess it'll be left to us to sort out our credit records because even if we're fit now in 3 months we could get a CCJ etc - don't suppose they can keep checking because it'll cost them money... If they do check I guess they'd let through anyone with no/little history, my overdraft might take some explaining though, but I have been a student for a year and most students need to use the overdrafts so maybe they'd let me off as I haven't got any adverse in terms of missed/late payments (well I have, but they didn't go on the report:rotfl:)
