If I write to them suggesting a certain amount to pay each month, does anyone have any experience of the likelihood of them accepting this?? I have alot of debt but Vanquis were my last last last resort so I have never even really thought of them even having any staff that could make such a decision! If anyone could share their experience I would be more than grateful. My other cards are Capital 1, NatWest, Barclaycard (the balance on this one is actually healthy) and Egg but I am confident I can liaise with them!
You need to contact vanquis immediatly to arrange a repayment of the arrears to bring your account back within its credit limit. Then you need to cut your card so you cant spend on the account and make the monthly payments on time until the account has been cleared.
If you are struggling then you need to discuss this with them as they may need to freeze the account as to stop further charges and intrest, However if you go down this route you may be issued with a default and the account may be sold on to a collections agency, depending on the monthly payment offer.
When you opened the account you would have been offered payment insurance which allows you to freeze the account for upto 2 years, Did you take out this cover?. If so you need to use.
Hope this helps.0 -

The internal behaviour score would have to be above 50. There are some people saying you need a score of 40 to have a CGC, but i had someone at HSBC who confirmed it is for customers who have an internal BS scoreof 50 or above and must specifically request one to be considered.0 -

Yep - 30 is for a basic account (i.e. a full auth card) and 50 is for a CGC and also overdraft. I think (from memory) 60 is CC and 70 is loan etc.....
But to be fair, upon appeal you can get things over-ridden....
To clarify an internal score of 50 can be achieved by a non customer easier than a customer.... basically 50 is a 'pass score' for basic credit products such as a CGC and overdraft. Thus not many new customers will get a credit card cos they do like to see 6 months history which should, increase your score (assuming full asage as your main account) to over 60. So in essence a score of 50 means nothing 'bad' at the CRA, but not many will walk in on a behavioural score of 60 cos this is a good credit score plus 6 months history..2010 - year of the troll

Hiya matey - long time no see
HSBC reduced credit card by £200 and my o/d by £500  Never mind, won't be with them for long (been there a year already with not a single fault and over £5k per month paid in yet they feel the need to do that to me!).... OH, before I forget I pay em £12.95 per month as well
Yes its cos of the old link but must be more to it, I just can't be bothered with it anymore - the old links have all gone so unless HSBC cifas me and added it again, then gawd-knows! If they have then i'll fight them but right now i'm waiting til Feb til my Lloyds/HBOS cifas come off then i'll SAR cifas again - pointless doing it now cos I know there are 2 on there!2010 - year of the troll

Must be really annoying for you, no wonder why you feel defeated, i hope it won't follow you like the plague, for example if you are to close HSBC account and apply for First Direct and yet they will get the same info and so forth.0
