Well, a week after I opened the account, I ordered a replacement card for my Plus account which was CGC. A week later, I snapped it and ordered a new one, which wasn't CGC.
They said I no longer meet the criteria and have removed my CGC and would not issue me a new one.
I am however closing the Gap Year account as I'm not ready for university yet and am going to take some more time out and work.0 -

To be honest, I'm not that bothered anymore. The CGC was helpful when writing cheques for my local indian restaurant when getting a delivery, but when I mentioned I no longer have a CGC, he told me as I've never had a cheque bounce, he doesn't mind.
There could be a lot of reasons why my internal score has dropped. I've ordered a lot of replacement cards recently, I downgraded to a standard bank account then upgraded to Plus again which might look bad. I had 5k go through my account one month (moving money around, and paid for a large purchase for my brother after he deposited money into my account), as well as using my overdraft for 5 days last month.
I'll try and get it back on route now. I keep contemplating moving everything to Lloyds, as I'd be better off (not paying the £13, and getting the interest), but HSBC is a good bank. Also, I have a 'Credit Policy Decline' with Lloyds meaning they wont even give me a cheque book at the moment.

In fact - Effect, did you work in the cinema? If I recall, didn't you have this same moral dilemma when it came to quitting (to concentrate on the school job)? And what ended up happening - you went back to the cinema and still work there now?
Was that you by any chance - lol :rotfl::rotfl:2010 - year of the troll

i stupidly have a vanquis card i think the credit limit is £600 but I get charged for being overlimit so much I now owe £749, I have had a letter from their "legal team" (the same people except on yellow paper instead of white) saying I owe all the money. If I write to them suggesting a certain amount to pay each month, does anyone have any experience of the likelihood of them accepting this?? I have alot of debt but Vanquis were my last last last resort so I have never even really thought of them even having any staff that could make such a decision! If anyone could share their experience I would be more than grateful. My other cards are Capital 1, NatWest, Barclaycard (the balance on this one is actually healthy) and Egg but I am confident I can liaise with them!Debt Free Wannabe by 1 January 2016
