4659 is a full card so it will work offline mate...... if you ring them and say you issue cheques, they will send you the cheque card mate...2010 - year of the troll

4659. Is an all auth card good?
Its not all auth mate - all auth means it only works online so if they cannot authorise payment, it declines. However 4659 is a full card, put it this way my CGC (silver) is 4659. I also have the black plus one, also starts 4659 and both mine work on planes and tesco pay @ pumps.
Ignore my comment, you have like a 3-in-1 card without CGC....
I also prefer the fact that HSBC have the hologram next to their mastercard bit lol.... the tesco etc doesnt! Looks boring. what is the card below the tesco one?2010 - year of the troll

Sygmas silver.
So the 3 in 1 card is good? or have they given me the sh!tty one? We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Basically, other than NatPest being the worst UK bank - they are also the shoddiest and I wouldn't put anything past them!
Credit where it's due - I feel that they're a vast improvement on A&L who I used to bank with. Polite, seemingly interested staff, reasonable communications about my account, a debit card (as opposed to a cashcard!) and no problems to date. Maybe my local branch is just a good one? :think:0 -

!!!!!! mate - what part didnt you grasp? lol :rotfl:
You know the difference between a full card and a full auth card don't you? Please tell me you do.....?
Ok, so a full card = no authorisation necessary - if you're 10,000 feet in the sky it will allow you to spend
A full auth card means it must connect to the banks server for authorisation or it declines.
You have a FULL CARD which of course is good, its got no restrictions... the only thing is unless you ask, you do not get sent a CGC. If you want the CGC you need to ring and ask....
mate you're acting awfully daft today lol - has the excitement got to you....?2010 - year of the troll

That said, i've heard of local branches inviting Step customers in to upgrade, but they have secretly been doing searches on you and know in advance what you're likely to be offered.....

Hi folks, long time listener and first time caller here,
I just thought I'd share a wee good news story that would give hope to all folks starting at the bottom of the ladder again.
I have been trying my best to repair a damaged credit file and have finally came to the light at the end of the dark tunnel. Well nearly as I have one more default to come off my account in september and thats it.
Its been a very long six years but I feel I'm making progress thanks in part to this site and some trememndous discipline that I have found within myself since 2004, no penalties finacially whatsoever since then
The weird thing is that I owe a lot of it to vanquis, who gave me a chance in the summer of 2008, they gave me the 250->50->1000->1500->2000 limits path, the way i hndled this account is always leaving a balance of 50 on it, i thought although maybe a small amount they were always making something from me, it might not be the case but if its not it certainly fooled me into believing it works that way. I used to feel ashamed handing over a vanquis card but not now and I would encourage determined folk to use them. (honest , i dont work for them)
Yesterday I got round to applying for other credit cards and applied for two, flybe and tesco, and got accepted for both. This will do me for a year to let my applications cool down
In a weird way I would like to show vanquis some loyalty but at 34% it just wouldnt make sense, I doubt they would lower it. The tesco card that I applied for is 16.9%, I dont know what the flybe will be but surely it will be a lot lower than 34.
In the last 4 years i was a student so maybe this is why I didnt apply for any credit during this period as I thought there would be no point. I know the dangers these crazy student overdrafts would attract. I am now a school teacher (not english as you can tell lol)
It has been a very long slog but hang in there.
Hopefully the next load I get off my chest will be mortgage acceptance.
Sorry if this is a bit me,me, me but i just needed to get it off my chest folks!
cheers

It's always good to hear someones story of how they were able to climb back up on that credit ladder.
The most important thing you need to do now is stay on that credit ladder and don't fall off again.
Continue focusing on building up your credit history with the Tesco and Flybe card before you chance your luck with a mortgage. You could perhaps save up a deposit in the mean time.
You've worked hard over the last 6 years so don't spoil it. Be responsible and only spend within your means. We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
