But i'm not referring to mobile companies being utilities, even though technically they are. So of course, if you had a mobile contract then you're likely to get another - but if you have BG and Virgin on there it will only help with lesser scored mobile accounts. To get a prime mobile contract you ought to really have a credit card or bank account showing....
But as proven - the rules can go out the window at times and some weird decisions are made! As you've seen for yourself matey

I applied on the phone for the Silver card.
With regard to the N&P I cancelled the account - they are an agency bank and so behind the times they could not service my needs for faster payments and local branch etc.
Now with Natwest closing Halifax next month.Since when has the world of computer software design been about what people want? This is a simple question of evolution. The day is quickly coming when every knee will bow down to a silicon fist, and you will all beg your binary gods for mercy.0 -
Afternoon all!
Bricking it as I applied for a Vanquis card a week ago and haven't heard anything yet. Not entirely sure if the old adage of no news being good news applies to subprime credit cards?I was going to call and enquire if any decision had been made, but their helpline says that it can take up to three weeks, so I didn't continue on with the call.
I have paid off my only defaulted debt (received default in 2006), but the payment probably only cleared ago and now that I think about it, it's unlikely that my credit file has been updated yet0 -

If your default is 1yr+ then Vanquis don't mind so much. As you paid it, this will help you. If they do decline you, then in 6 months you'll get accepted.....2010 - year of the troll

I think you'll be fine - they've accepted people with much worse debt than one four year old default!
