Really? I am apply shy lol. Scared of rejection lol. Anyway, nothing ventured nothing gained so i gotta get off my back side and make some applications.

So now I have Tesco, M&S, Post Office and Amex to consider. When you say PO search Equifax, do you mean they use them solely or they search both Equifax and Experian?

    Thanks mate:T

They search both, except for Tesco. I applied for Tesco CC and was instantly accepted searching Experian only. They do use Equifax if there is something amiss with your Experian credit file. For example limited credit history recorded on file, missed payments etc.

PO can search both. The only two that exclusively search Equifax are Barclaycard and Sygma Cards (JJB, Flybe, Silver, Accessory)

Mine (search last year) only shows on Equifax mate - so is my Bank of Ireland gold card (got the account and they only search Equifax with me) which issue the PO card. :D

OK mate I'll apply at the "Null" address (excluding flat number) and report back, hold fire for a jiffy Miles ;)

EDIT: Looks like I'll have to wait until tomorrow to confirm who was searched... But I would imagine EQ only given it wasn't a straight decline :p

  • Am I right in assuming you guys are basing PO searches from here: Credit Reference Agencies - Who Really Uses Who?! UPDATE?

How many people have an account, that's the best way to find out for certain - maybe cos my Experian had problems they never used it - I dunno, but mine only shows on Equifax and on their paperwork it states they use Equifax as well....

But I last applied a year ago now so maybe they have started to do both? However BoI do report to just Equifax & Experian - nothing on CC at all...

Thanks mate! Now this is what i hate, they search only Equifax for you but may search both for me when i apply. It isn't fair lol.

Well ok if you want an Equifax search do the barclays pre-app checker first and consider Sygma - lol..... :D:D

what are you doing? lol :rotfl:

Well my Equifax subscription shows me two separate addresses, X, My Road, Town, Postcode, and Flat X, X, My Road, Town Postcode.

    They aren't linked.

All my history and ER are listed at Flat X, X Road, so I can make an application on X My Road, and see the search on Equifax but because the addresses aren't linked it doesn't affect my score at Flat X, X My Road.

    Make sense?

Experian however have everything linked so if they did search Experian it would've affected my score... hopefully they won'tve

Afternoon all, I applied for Accessory card, went to print it out and pressed back by accident (this was last week) so ost the ref number etc, anyway they told me 10-14 days or whatever, so I called them yesterday I think it was, he said its been referred a decision has not been made, then he sorta tripped himself up and started to say a letter will be sent explaining the decision...but stopped himself and said you will get a letter....bla bla! haha, so thats a decline - I really must stop applying, someone please remove the apply button from all websites

on another note, went out last night, hanging so much right now!
