This month I was not going to max out either card....I've spent so much on the Natwest one Fri/Sat and early morning Sun that I've probably maxed it out.... Is it even possible for me to go over my limit? (Natwest Student card) They blocked a transaction that would've taken me over the limit before (I picked the wrong card by accident, was supposed to pick debit as I knew credit was maxed out), does that mean they'll always block them or what? Otherwise it wouldn't surprise me if I've gone over.....
That's the 1 good thing about crap1, at least they show pending ones when you select it, so I get to add up what I've spent.... only £40 left on that card though, but the pathetic limit doesn't really help......0 -

Just to give you all my opinion on First Direct, as I know a few of you are applying/awaiting to apply for their 1st account.
I've had it a month now and can say the novelty does quickly wear off. To be honest, there's not much difference between First Direct and HSBC.
Pros for First Direct
Great customer service
Free text banking
Premier banking
They give credit based on your internal transactions
Cons for First Direct
The internet banking isn't as good as HSBC's (I miss the pending transactions)
Their interest rates are terrible (same with HSBC)
Overall, I wouldn't worry too much about getting a First Direct account. I'm going to be turning my HSBC Bank Account into a student account soon and will be using both my 1st account and bank account, but really there's not much difference.0 -
