    Zack, I would say your ok to apply, as they are two seperate cards, with same parent company!
    Yea I was thinking that, but then I did the same with MBNA and I'm not sure if some of them resulted in outright rejections because of it. Because they are different cards, but issued but the same finance people, so they've assessed me once....

    There's something not right about that diamond credit card website.

    Has anyone actually called Vanquis to confirm it is a part of them, and not some sort of phishing website?
    I'm not sure, part of it does look dodgy, but then looking at the SSL info....

    CN = www.diamond-creditcard.co.uk
    OU = IT
    O = VANQUIS BANK LTD.
    L = Chatham
    S = Kent
    C = GB

    Vanquis' SSL gives

    CN = www.vanquis.co.uk
    OU = IT
    O = Vanquis Bank Ltd.
    L = Bradford
    S = West Yorkshire
    C = GB

    Similar...... don't know if they have offices in "Chatham", wherever that is...

    Edit: Is that london? DNS lookup shows it as registered to Vanquis Bank at an address in London, vanquis.co.uk is in Yorkshire though, hmmm

    The SSL information doesn't match the whois information for the domain, and the whois doesn't match Vanquis website either.

    It just looks fishy is all. No contact number (as far as I saw) on the diamond website which rings bells.

    Haha! I don't get a statement :p But yea I've never heard of it :rotfl:

    It seems strange a company would register thier domains like that though... but it's been going since July so if it was dodgy it would've been pulled by now I guess....

    Vanquis Bank in Bradford relates specifically to Vanquis CARD but the diamond card (same with Freemans) card is issued by the parent company, based in Chatham, Vanquis BANK.

    Think natwest/RBS - all Natwest stuff comes from Natwest but it is part RBS so any registration info will show the RBS HO address).

    Chatham is Vanquis Banks registered office, bradford is not. Bradford is Vanquis card registered office.

    Vanquis card being one company, vanquis bank being the parent, freemans card being another division within vanquis bank (not vanquis card). Make sense....

  • Evening everybody,
    Avid reader, long time lurker needing advice.
    Had problems with repayments a few years ago resulting in a default with Halifax. Card limit £1000, default placed for £1668.
    Upon checking credit reports as I had moved house default on Equifax remains at £1668 but new one added for same account at £2424 and increasing monthly.
    Experian shows one default, opening balance £1668 updated Jan £2424.

    My next problem stems from house move.
    Had direct debit to British Gas for £80 per month never missed then upon moving submitted final readings and waited for bill. Never arrived so contacted via e-mail to remind them.
    Next thing Central Recoveries send letters so complained once more to BG and told new bill would be produced and offering £20 discount for inconvenience.
    More letters from Central Recoveries, then Westcot and still no bill so put account into dispute as didn't agree on figures, ie discount not applied, backed up by further mails to Bg.
    Fast forward to today and account showing on Experian as 6 payments late in red.
    Worked so hard in recent years to build rating up, through this forum I have a JD Williams account, Vanquis, Cap one and Barclays cash account as well as Littlewoods and Next. All paid on time, never missed.
    Can I do anything regarding the problems above to make my report better.
    Have money to pay the gas bill if only I can get a up to date bill.
    Don't dispute that I owe them money, my records say £108, credit file says £128.
    Thank you for any advice offered. :beer:
