Yes but you could by a 1000 lottery tickets if you choose to as there is no upper limit.

You can also put £1.00 on a horse, I don't see any of types of gambling mentioned is any worse than the other.

Checking 1000 lottery tickets on a Saturday night is more trouble than it's worth. :rotfl:

I know that gambling is frowned upon by banks.

So if you are using your current account for gambling then it will be flagged and noted against your banking records.

    Gambling equals high risk;)
Ah Natwest are fools anyway and won't give me anything decent, so might as well use just that account!

all bookmakers make inquiry against your credit report
No they don't, and there is no reason for them to - they aren't giving credit for obvious reasons! Skybet didn't, neither did bet365, Blue Square, William Hill, 188 Bet, Sportingbet, Paddypower and whatever other sites I'm on, it's only Stanjames that have decided to, so I'll be disputing that one

I was searched when I joined my local casino. They claimed it was to verify my identity and to prevent money laundering, they even took a picture of me to store on the computer! It's quite normal for any gambling establishment to check your credit report.

I called Jacamo, basically they have reduced my credit limit to below my baance to 'protect me' as I have a few parcels go missing!
  • I have opened tons of betting accounts using both my A/L and HSBC debit cards and have never had a problem. Iv used my overdrafts as well. I always opened accounts to get free bet offers. I also used betfair a lot at one time and deposits and credits were not a problem.
As far a gambling goes, If you cannot gamble responsibly then dont. I always set myself a spend limit and once its gone its gone. If i cannot afford to gamble then i dont.

So are you trying to state that having gambling transactions against your current account has no adverse affect in the eyes of the account issuer?
