Hi guys, this might seem a daft question but is it normal for credit searches to disappear before they are 12 months old? 4 searches have just been deleted from my Equifax credit report. They are from capital 1, t-mobile, sygma, and BT. all these searches were made in July last year. I always thought they go away after 1 yr?

    And your point is?

my point is that i cannot see why the banks are causing you problems with transactions when related to betting. the only thing i could point it to would be if your betting accounts are credit accounts as oppose to deposit or debit accounts.

    Have you recently moved address?

Never known any reason for this, maybe it was done by mistake:)

    I am a bit lost:D

The point I was making is using your current account as a betting account is going to leave a flag against the said account.

You said that by doing this practice you have not had any problems.

What I am saying is how do you know that the way you run your account has not influenced what products are offered to you and what APR you pay if you are accepted.

Price for RISK and all that.

No i haven't moved address in 4 yrs. made 6 searches during past yr but the only searches remaining on my equifax report are from barclaycard. well if it's a mistake i'll like that to happen more often :)

A check for money laundering isn't a credit check, it's an ID check so nobody sees it, I don't care if they do that, but the wording of the alert I got is identical for Bank of Cyrpus (who would of conducted a full check). I'll dispute it online to find out if it's a full one or not, it better not be, but if it isn't then the wording for the Equifax alerts needs to be changed...

And I see you are on Betfair and Ladbrokes on that screenshot....so am I and have had nothing from either of them

I was searched when I joined my local casino. They claimed it was to verify my identity and to prevent money laundering, they even took a picture of me to store on the computer! It's quite normal for any gambling establishment to check your credit report.
I'm well into double figures and it's only stan james that have searched me on Equifax, the rest of them haven't searched me on Equifax or Experian, unless they use callcredit, but somehow I doubt that :rotfl:(and if they do they can search me every day of the week if they feel like it, no lender searches them!)

I must admit i am unsure in regards to how Price for Risk and additional products and services are affected.
I personally have not had any issues. I have had extensions to my overdraft and have been accepted for credit cards with good APR's.

It is an interesting question though. Maybe i will open up a cashplus card and use that in the future for all my betting transactions.:)

I think that would be a good idea mate.

    Have a good day.

Do you have access to your equifax credit reports? if yes then you can find out if it's a full search or not. if it's under credit searches then the search reason will also say credit search, then it's a full credit search. but if it's appearing under other seaches then it is just an id search or to comply with money laundering regulation. The equifax alert service is not very clear i find.
