I applied to First Direct yesterday.
I doubt I'll get it but who knows. We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Awesome! Bet you're glad to see the back of Santander and Barclays.
How have Lloyds TSB been for you?? My first impressions of them are excellent but then again, I have just come from Barclays, so that isn't difficult
Not a snowman's chance in hell of me getting a FD account for a good few years though
I like Lloyds and would rate them up there with HSBC. Their telephone banking is great and I've always found their staff friendly and helpful. Unfortunately their internet banking isn't the best, and they would never give me credit as I had a 99 marker on my account stating no credit could be given. They are definitely a good bank though.0 -
I'm unsure, however I just put 'no' on the application.0

Good luck. Did you put £0 overdraft and no credit card?
Cheers. I don't remember seeing anything referring to the overdraft, but I didn't select the credit card. :rotfl:We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Just a bit of advice, if you ring them, they'll push your application through their and then on the phone and tell you the decision.
I've received everything apart from my pin number (ordered a replacement as it may have gone missing, sent out on the 26th and still hasn't arrived). The cheque book they send it real snazzy. You also receive a really nice welcome pack.
I like how they give you credit on your history with the bank, rather then your credit history (if you fail the credit check). So far so good.
The lady at my work is a little ticked off that I've asked her to change my bank details again, as I only asked her in December, but still, she's getting paid to do exactly that.0 -

Ohhh I like the sound of that. I'm not interested in the credit card or overdraft just yet, but I did select that I want to open a savings account too, during the application.
I'll call them a call tomorrow perhaps.
The only downside is there isn't any HSBC branches near me so I cannot use it as my only bank account but I'll just pay money into my NatWest account and transfer it over. We’ve had to remove your signature.
