First Direct annoyed me a little.

They sent me a 'Customer update information' form which arrived Thursday. I thought that it was all I had to sign and return, however friday they sent me the 1st account application to sign as well as a second information update form.

I posted the application back yesterday, so hoping to get a decision next week.

You can't but if the Tories win the election you will be able to for utility companies. PO Card Accounts can only be used for crediting of benefits and withdrawls at the PO
  • I might do....what should I say in the appeal letter?

Could this be another dangle the carrot though...

applied online this morning for the Barclaycard Initial and again after the 60 second thing it said I had been accepted and my card would be with me in 5 days...is this likely to be reversed..ha ha

I think the Barclaycard is a better option anyway as it has a min limit of £250 and the rates are lower.

Just to let you know Barclaycard searched both my Equifax & Experian files as did Capital One...seems Capital One do some extra unrecorded searches though

    Thanks

Yeah, that'll go through fine. They don't screw people around as much as Capital One do. Congrats! Seem Capital One declining you was a good thing, as it spurred you on to be approved for a better card :)

Phoned them on sat and was declined. Was told to contact Experien to find out why i was declined. Why would i contact Experien when they wont tell me anything that i dont already know. Idiots.

I guess they dont want my 40k+ salary then.

I will wait for the letter to come through to find out where to send an appeals letter.
