Hahahaha. It was the Man Utd card I applied for from MBNA... swear I've only applied for that once!

Got their final response today telling me that they thank me for my full submission but having reviewed their decision carefully I'm still declined and if I want to refer it I can go to the Ombudsman....

What I expected in the end really, don't know why it took them so long though! Good job they didn't respond by email afterall....:p

Did they not give a reason?

"As your credit score was insufficient, the application was declined."

    Further down...

"However, as a responsible lender, I regret that we are unable to assist you. We would welcome a new application from you, when you have started full-time employment [could been sooner rather than later!! :rotfl:]. Please note that we have only been provided with positive credit references for you." - so at least there is nothing bad, they all just hate me for being a student.......

Found a degree I can do (they declined me for one but said I'd get the same if I did a year 0). The year 0 would be extermely boring, as would (probably) the year 1, but, it's a chance and it looks like it's the only one I'm going to get so may be worth a shot.....
  • Hi Guys

Has this happened to anyone else?

Applied for a Capital One Classic on Sunday got the 3 green ticks, said I was successful...signed the online credit agreement and it said my Pin and card would be sent out in 3-5 days

Rang them today and they said application has been unsucessful..wouldnt say why either?

I then checked my credit files online...

Experian was searched on Sunday...1 Credit application serach
Equifax searched Monday...1 search and also an unrecorded enquiry

I have no CCJs or Defaults, Electroral Roll, lots of green 0s, no CIFAS etc..

3 searches in last 6 months?

    Any Ideas?

Yeah that's strange, I signed the agreement on-line too, but, I got my pin 2 days later, and th card turned up last Friday.

    Appeal. See what they say.

I might do....what should I say in the appeal letter?

Could this be another dangle the carrot though...

applied online this morning for the Barclaycard Initial and again after the 60 second thing it said I had been accepted and my card would be with me in 5 days...is this likely to be reversed..ha ha

I think the Barclaycard is a better option anyway as it has a min limit of £250 and the rates are lower.

    Thanks
