Natwest (RBS) score applications as you go along (ive told you this recently lol)...... so you may well click that you want a key account whatever but they may well search for a full account, if successful you'll get it - if not, then they will just give you the account applied for, i.e. key account.

Certain lenders do report basic accounts, this is something I am appealing with the ICO and will take this to court if necessary. I've been on this for a few weeks now, basically a basic account offers no credit so therefore should NOT be credit scored nor should the conduct be reported, also other banks don't appreciate it as they cannot differentiate between basic and full accounts being basic accounts should not be reporting.

I reported this and RBS/Barclays to the ICO and have also issued Barclays a pack that demands an explanation as to where in their basic account it says they will report the account conduct to the CRA's - it doesn't, therefore they cannot share your data.

It is ongoing, i'm still on the case! :D
Haha thanks, I do totally agree with that by the way, but while they are still reported would opening a basic account adversely affect me (recent opening date, about 5 bank accounts in total?) or would it only be a positive (becuase I can only possibly rack up 0's!)

Got my letter from Halifax, bunch of BS about credit scoring and that I did not pass the qualifying tests - my "total score is below the approval level we use to decide whether or not to offer a current account. We have not refused your application because of one factor alone." - so that means it wasn't a N Hunter flag?

Anyone know the address for Halifax appeals? It says contact my branch ("We are willing to reconsider our decision" if further info can be supplied, please contact your branch for more information), I don't have a branch!!

Yup. It will then be forwarded in the internal mail to the correct department.
