Did you just apply now? I always thought Orange were one of the easiest.
I applied on Friday to Voda, Orange and O2. Only the latter would accept me and then only with a deposit. Maybe they are stricter with the iPhone?

i would apply for both that what i did and i got them

Applied for a Capital One (Classic) this morning and looks like I have been accepted, signed online signature and they said the card will be with me in a few days.

What is the best way to use this card to improve my credit rating and to get better cards/limits in the future?

As long as you do not go over your limit and pay at least the minimum payment on time you will get an increase on your 4th statement. CapOne are renowned, though, for handing one increase out and that's it

Thanks for the advice. May I take this opportunity to thank this forum for all the hints and tips. In May 09, I had no credit history and couldn't even get a proper bank account.

    I now have

2 Full Current Accounts with Visa Debit Cards
    1 Vodafone Contract Mobile Phone
1 Empire Catalogue account £250 limit

and the final piece in the jigsaw a Credit Card.

    Thank you All

It is an amazing phone isn't it?

Apparently, at the moment, it is the only phone that will be compatible with Windows Mobile 7.

I think you'll need to make at least 1 purchase for it to show up as active, that was certainly the case with my A&L Current Account (I only signed up for the 5% on positive balances, so never used it for the first 3 months). It may vary per store though

I've got a 3 Sim Zero contract and, to the best of my knowledge!, it's being reported as active still, I spent 10p on that though, sending a text to myself :D
