    Hi Plumber2009,

Thanks for the reply, is there any particular reason? Are they more likely to accept me, of is it a case that the others you've mentioned there are poor?

    Thanks :)

I am making the recomendation on the basis that i have had accounts with all the mentioned banks.

I have been screwed over by A/L, Halifax and Natwest big time.

HSBC are the best and are fair and I have had an account with them since I was 13 and I am now 28. They have been fantastic with me.

I also had good experience with First Direct bank, but account got closed because I was bad with money when i first left school. I have now learnd my lesson.:D

Also HSBC are good with credit facilities after 6 months of good account activity.
  • was just wondering, how hard is it to get hte classic MBNA?

went on electoral roll in August and had a studio account since then ran it well and now have the jacamo acc.

wanna get a vanquis next month im thinking if i wait until aftr summer?

So my 6 months wait to reapply for First Direct is coming to an end in 2 weeks. I'm hoping they'll accept me. I have 14 months of credit history now, however the only downside is 50 searches in the last 12 months, 5 being in the last 3 months.

I am however at least a customer with them now, as I have a savings account that I use, so I'm hoping that will help.
  • 50 searches, wow

    also i meant to ask

how many credit accounts is too many?

inclusing virgin media nad sky i have 4

I have 13, all being 5 that are now closed, as I opened two A&L accounts for the £50 Quidco, and have had littlewoods (closed), aqua (closed), vanquis (closed) and other current accounts that are now closed.

I don't think how many accounts you have makes a different. I believe it's how well run they are and whether they carry a high available credit.

I applied to O2 for an iPhone and they want a £200 deposit for 3 months. Should I take it?

Yea, as long as you pay on time you'll get it back no problem. If you don't it'll take 3 clear months (so if you miss month 2 you won't get it back until you pay months 3, 4 and 5 on time). They automatically use it to reduce future bills (so if you were on a £35 contract for example you wouldn't have to "pay" for about 5/6 months) so just email and say you want a cheque sent and they send it out to your home pretty quickly

After much discussion I am going to make do with my Satio and Touch for now and wait for the release of the new iPhone in the summer.

    Very good choice.

The new iPhone that'll be released in summer will have some dramatic improvements, but it is going to be much more expensive.
