I would wait until your credit history is at least 12 to 18 months to show future lenders that you can manage your commitments well. It also shows stability which lenders like. Also, double check you are on the electoral roll.

thanks:beer: cifpower, will wait a bit then. i am however sure i am on the electoral roll. i checked this from my credit reports-got both credit expert and equifax credit watch gold.

    Hi all,

Been working on my Vanquis card and a couple of catalogues over the past 3 months to try and get the credit rating back up. I had been refused by Cap1 6 months ago so thought I may as well give it a shot a couple of days ago and reapplied ...

Got the pin through the post today so looks like ive been accepted, wasn't expecting that at all! :)
    Next : £615/£1500 // JD Williams : £23.40/£450 // Vanquis : £190/£250 // Cap1 ?

    Jacamo : £0/£150

  • Hi Guys

applied to Capital One & Vanquis on the 15th July 09 and they both declined me...I have no CCJs, Defaults, Electoral roll but recently moved in to this house in May 09 and had no credit history...

I have since built up some green 0s and have a £250 limit with Shop Direct 0 balance, Vodafone Contract Mobile, Abbey bank account

How long should I wait to reapply and which one would be best to try do not want to try both again?

How can you check if you are on the electoral roll apart from through a CRA?

    tia :)
  • Contact your local electoral dept. If you call your council they will transfer you.
