I have just spoken to Equifax about the £7.50 charge, they have refunded me and given me the free service for a month, seemed very helpful and efficient..

Also spoken to Argos, they want me to send a copy of my credit file with a covering letter to get the incorrect search removed....at this point is it worth an appeal? do you need a reason to appeal my decline?

That's good it's been refunded, suppose if you don't ask you don't get!

Maybe worth appealing on grounds that mistaken address/credit report info may have caused the decline, but didn't they say that wasn't a factor in your decline? If you are attatching a credit report anyway then maybe it's worth a shot as they can read through it at the same time and look at your payment history etc.

Oh and this site is moneysaving... I gamble, but was shocked to read this!

The team he bet on were 4-0 up with 15mins to go and let in 4 goals, 2 in injury time! (Or Ferige Time as it's more commonly known!)

Zack, do you do accumulators? I put £2 on one earlier this season, 11 results, would have got me £169 - all ten came up, apart from Millwall Charlton - Millwall scored in the 92nd minute haha! oh well, was only £1, not £4400 haha!

I may well appeal - now to find an appeal letter...

Yep, I hate it when that happens. Bookies make the most money from accumulators (but because of good odds so do I!). Because a lot of people back a banker (Chelsea/United/Arsenal etc) and if one screws up that's hundreds of thousands of accumulators down the drain already, without even looking at the more risky bets like Newcastle etc.

I do lots, one that sticks in my head is one I placed on International Weekend, had Japan to win in the 12:30 (they eventually did) then 6 to win at 3pm (they all did), England to win at 5:15, someone to win at 7 and France to win at 9. France drew 0-0

Appeal the Charlton result or Argos? :p Good luck! :)

Just phoned Halifax, they say there is nothing back and it's taking about 7 days on average now, and they will write to me "in due course". I thought she could see there was a rejection and just didn't want to say, so I said "I've heard if I'm accepted I need to deposit £100" and she was saying they'll write to me to confirm how to activate it etc, not "if accepted" so I'm thinking there really has been no decision yet....strange!

Appeal the Charlton result of course :D

I am a Spurs fan, so not sure why I chose Charlton anyway, and they are my mates team....

I am going to send them a copy, and appeal, but if there are defaults on there, surely it is pointless?

:p Worth a try - see the thread on bookies won't pay out 7.1m because somebody "thought" (he was blatantly trying to pull a fast one) they could combine bets!

Don't know if it's worth it or not, don't know how harsh Argos are, they rejected me after it was referred, so

Just hope Halifax get a move on, I've got 3k in that account I wanna spend!!

I did earlier, they're still processing it and will write to me in due course apparently!

I doubt you'll get it removed, but should get it corrected at least :)

They have told me that if I write to them with a copy of my credit file then I can get it removed....it was a simple error! They eventually searched me at my correct address, (still declined) to which I have been on the voters roll for almost 3 years :D

Halifax are taking their time with you mate, I applied for mine on the Friday, had a decision by the Monday
