True to form, I have a search on Equifax for the credit card but I also have a search on Experian showing as a credit card - so two full searches.
I believe I am out of date with Crappy1 and humbly apologise for incorrect info given. It is, as you say, best to assume they search both. I'll let Underground know so he updates the thread accordingly.:D
I wish they would switch totally to experian, lol. I hate Equifax!
CashFlow - cheers mate, without this i'd have never checked and to be fair it is best to assume worse case scenario.
See, i'll do it again - save as your signature - Niddy apologising!
CashFlow - Oh mighty one, I bow at your feet for forgiveness :A
No problem man we are all here to learn and share our knowledge have a good day NID:D0 -
I have spoken to the underwriters at Argos, and she advised that a search, at the incorrect address will be recorded on my credit file, can someone advise if I write to Argos or Experian to remove this information? Also is there a latter I can use?
On another note, it was declined anyway, its official, Experian hate me, and I hate them!0 -

I want to try again now my overdraft should be updated as cleared, but the answer to that question determines when I try again!wizzywig27 wrote: »I have spoken to the underwriters at Argos, and she advised that a search, at the incorrect address will be recorded on my credit file, can someone advise if I write to Argos or Experian to remove this information? When Halifax do confirm it will they email me? I've updated my main email address to my student address, but I put the hotmail one on the form (only thought to change it when the application was referred)0 -

You will probably get it changed, not removed (although it's worth a try removing it I suppose!). It's the lenders that report the information, so I'm pretty sure you have to write to them. Shame about the decline. I'm still waiting for Halifax
Argos seem to think its Experian who remove it, can see this being fun!
I got accepted for Reward Current Account just before Christmas mate :money:0 -

I got accepted for Reward Current Account just before Christmas mate :money:Once the lender agrees the information is incorrect they will deal with it (remove/change) and report that to the CRAs in the monthly feed, rather than you needing to go to the CRA. I'd wait for NID to correct it if I'm wrong though
Did you get a pending thing like I've got or a straight accept? What's your credit like roughly? Mine should be good, paid everything in time (well apart from O2 once by 2 days but they didn't report that to CRA) and never gone over limit etc. Had my £35 a month phone contract (although the terms appear on my report as 0 @ 0 so I don't searches would be able to see how much I've committed to
) and my £350 Natwest Student Card since May and a £100 Capital One recently opened along with £125 JDW. Oh and I've got a SIM Zero for the green Zero's (ironic that!
)
I believe I deserve to get it, because I have good history and by applying for it I obviously know I can put 1k a month in it (otherwise I'd have gone for Standard) so that should tell them all they need to know (whether I'm a student or not, if I'm going to fund it with 1k who cares!?), but banks are a law to themselves and roulette seems a lot more predictable than most of this credit scoring!0 -
Hmmmm. Strange. I think that's just a case of them possibly saying any BS to get you off their case for a while. They could well be right, but I thought the CRAs had no input into what data is there and they obviously don't score it - all the addition and modification is done by the lenders, as are searches and scoring. Hence when Natwest incorrectly searched me I was supposed to contact them - but as I was a member on Equifax/Experian, whichever one it was, who contacted the lender for me (and Natwest told them and me to get lost) as part of the package is dispute resolution or similar - but at the end of the day it's the lender that has the final say and if you aren't signed up to any kind of premium service you would need to write to them yourself
I'd wait for NID to correct it if I'm wrong though

Initially I got the 7-14 days, but I called them up and they advised me it had been accepted, and I needed to deposit £100, I did this on the Tuesday and my card was here on the Saturday, and the PIN on the Monday.
My credit history is in tatters mate, however it is improving, with some sub-prime acceptances of late, more notably a Vanquis Credit Card, T-Mobile Solo SIM (which was later upgraded to a full contract), a full Bank account with Halifax, Jacamo etc etc, but I have such a poor history, I feel so honoured to have all the credit I currently have, and I am paying it, and every month it gives me a buzz to pay it on time (how geeky does that sound)
What was the reason why it was referred (out of hours application or Electoral Roll etc)?0 -

What was the reason why it was referred (out of hours application or Electoral Roll etc)?. So I'm thinking I should wait (annoyingly!) 48 hours before phoning or I'll look too desperate to get it? I transfered £500 over from Natwest into my Easycash (?) account that I have with them, so they should be able to see that and maybe that'll help?
Haha! It's good to feel like that though, to be on top of everything is great and it's good when you get a better product because of that
Must have been the out of hours application, hopefully they accept me but I doubt it now I know it's credit scored0 -
Ah, mine said 7-10 at first, then when it eventually matched my details up online it came up with a screen saying 48 hours

Sorry mine would have been 7-10 days then, silly me!
I didnt log into my online banking, I just made a seperate application, and when it asked if I had an account said yes and filled in my sort code and account number. My Easycash account I only got as a back up to my Barclays current account (and for Ryanair flight bookings (but that dont work anymore anyway)). Now I am thinking of moving to Halifax and have my salary paid into it. But my easycash account I have not had ANY salary paid into it, and only used the account 4 times max!
I dont see phoning up as a sign of desperation, its only someone looking into your account to see if its set up. An excuse I use is I am going away I want to use the card whilst away....:rotfl:0 -

Haha, that's a good excuse but they've already given me a card (the same card?) with the Easycash
I assume if I'm declined I can appeal it anyway, even though it's not a proper credit product. I want Barclaycard initial too (the contactless technology is great!) but last time I did a pre-application check on that it said they'd decline me haha0 -
Probably reject me for being a student then like the rest of them! Nothing has changed so I guess I'll know tomorrow rather than today. Oh I've just realised the text says "in most cases we will contact you within 48 hours.....to let you know a decision is available online", so if I'm not "most cases" I could still be waiting! I don't get what they have to verify, I'm on the electoral roll at the address I put down, and I have an existing account with them so they've had my ID checked, it should just be credit check and straight accept/decline surely :S

No, the Easycash has a Visa Electron card, the Current Account has a full Visa Debit Card, (someone may corrent me) but it means you can pay at pump etc....
I would contact them mate, what you got to lose? They told me over the phone! If I had waited for the letter, I wouldnt have got my card before new year!
Also, my Barclays connect Visa card has contactless technology, I aint used it yet as I dont live in London (only works twice before you have to input PIN anyway - every third transaction you have to input PIN) :rolleyes:0
