macdonald's who to contact that will listen

Options
I will start by saying i do not want anything other than the decency of a reply to say that they have listened, taken on board and it will not happen again

right me and my 3yr old visited macdonalds last week
when we went into there downstairs disabled toilet my little one used the toilet put soap on her hands and i turned the tap on for her while i went to the loo

now this toilet had the one tap that dose both hot and cold i turned it to cold

as i sat down on the toilet i felt heat rise and then my daughter said ouch hot

i thought i had mistakenly put it on hot but what ever way i turned the tap it made no difference it was boiling hot like a kettle her hand was red but nothing else

i went outside and when i ordered i said just to let you know i think there is a problem with the tap and loo in there, there reply was yes we know, i ordered and sat down when they came over with our order i said to another person about this and that i think that the toilet should be closed he said i will let them know

any way we ate and nearly an hour later the toilet was still open so when i got home i emailed macdonalds outlining my concerns and must admit i was a little miffed that i had twice reported this not once was anything done about it ie toilet closed/ notice put up warning people of the hot tap/loo and not once was i asked if my daughter was ok, she was but it is besides the point

i have now emailed macdonalds twice and had no reply and to be honest it is making me rather angry i would have thought this would have been a health and saftey issue and they would have atleast replyed to an email

again before anyone shouts ambulance chaser at me i am not seeking any compensation of any sort but reply to my email saying that they would look into it or it wont happen again

    thank you for that :T

Happy to be of assistance. :D

(I just googled McDonalds and it was on the website)
  • If you are not disabled the reply should read that you should not have used that toilet and you should supervise a toddler while dealing with any kind of water hot or cold.

    What a silly reply.

Why should you have to supervise a child with what should be cold water?

And it is merely your opinion as to whether able bodied people should use a disabled toilet.

Plus the OP did not mention whether they are disabled or not, because, quite rightly, it has nothing whatseover to do with you, or this discussion.

pointless post on your behalf really

please point me to the part of my post where i said that i was or was not disabled

and please re-read i turned the tap on for her in the direction of cold
most taps when you turn them onto cold come out cold,

the staff knew that there was a problem so should have atleast have done the decent thing of put a sign on the door notifiying customers of the problem

my childeren are supervised the toilet and the sink were litlraly next to each other so if you do not know the full facts please do not judge me its not as if i were letting her play chicken in the motorway and im now here moaning that she got hit by a car she was simply washing her hands after using the toilet

I often use the disabled toilets in McD's or supermarkets if the kids are desperate or if I have all of them with me. It's a lot quicker, saves others queuing behind us, and you don't have to leave small children unattended in the main bit whilst you are in the cubicle with one of the others.

    A very sensible attitude!
