Dont ever worry honey about posting and bringing us down - this brilliant thread that you started is about us being friends together and us being there for each other.

I wish I lived closer to you cos i'd be round there as fast as I could to give you hugs, make you a cuppa and cake.

And on your birthday we'd have a fab pamper weekend in a gorgeous spa, and feel 10 yrs younger.

So sorry honey that the people around you are thinking about themselves and not you on your birthday, its awful. We get 1 day a year to celebrate 'us', you'd think theyd sort themselves out.

Is there anyone other than your sis and oh you can ask??

  • Wannabee, are you sure we are not the same person? I passed a local spa today and was thinking about going there for a couple of days in the summer but thinking I wouldn't really want to go alone!

If you want to meet somewhere and do something like this I would be up for it as well if it wasn't too far. Free all summer with a little notice to get a babysitter and I love pampering!

I am going away at the end of summer for a "SKA MADNESS" weekend at a Warner camp on IOW. Kinda scary the thought of going on my own but its paid for (4 poster and everything) so I'm not gonna lose out. Very little hope at the moment of hubby being around, barely talking to me and its chewing DS to bits.
The best things in life are NOT free - but they sure are cheaper with MSE!:j

Hi Wannabe - sorry you are feeling so rubbish today!!

Why not book yourself in for the spa day anyway, and then if you do find someone nearer the time that can make it, they can book in also - at least you'll have something to look forward to.

It would be nice going with a friend, but also luxurious to go on your own - total r&r!! Just think of all the treatments you can have. Take some magazines, books with you, lounge around eating chocolates & treat yourself properly!! I am sure other people would go on their own too, so you dont need to feel like the odd one out.

Unfortunately I come to realise that if you wait for other people to get their acts together you'll end up missing out on everything, so although it can be scary, you need to do these things on your own. Sure, its great having friends, but you cant rely on others & need to be able to do these things on your own - and sometimes its more fun on your own. (hence why I am going travelling on my own...).

I LOVE going to the cinema on my own after work, it feels like a treat (and you dont have to share the popcorn!!).

I LOVE going shopping on my own, that way you can take the time to see everything you want to see & not be dragged around shops you dont want to be dragged around

Dont get me wrong, I love doing things with friends too, but I dont mind my own company (although I do drive myself mad after a while!!).

Big hugs to you. I hope your day gets (or has got) better.

I hope everyone else is having a good day too.

If anyone is ever in London I'd be happy to meet up for a drink.

    xx

I am sure you'll find that your sister or a friend will be able to make it, but book yourself in anyway & cram in as many treatments as you can!!

It sounds like heaven!! I've never done anything like that, but always meant to  !! It may have to wait until I get to Thailand, where I can have everything done for not much cash ;) !!

I love the M&S profiterole desserts - yummmmmm!! Maybe I'll make a detour on the way home :p

    Enjoy your evening.xx
