I have the same trouble when I try and meditate - I just cannot switch off which is a nightmare at night and results in me taking many homeopathic treatments for sleep along with Horlicks - I refused the sleeping tablets from the Doc and found some from USA which are a nightmare to ship over. Apparently it is just because of the stress in my life! It took me over a week to get an appointment and then when I did it was a waste of time.
Can you give us any tips Urban Spirit is it better with a CD or music?
I have been going for Reiki treatment and have really enjoyed that, you might want to look into this as it is good for the emotions and I am certainly emotional! It might be worth looking into this?
Let me know how you get on

Wannabe ~ the tablets you get from the US, are they available over the counter there?
I am off there a week on Friday!

Hi Philipa
They are called PM's - have you heard of them at all (anyone)and as far as I know they are available over the counter in any store.
Where abouts are you going?

We fly into Atlanta, then drive down to South Carolina (Hilton Head) to spend two weeks with my Dad. We will also be spending a weekend in Denver as my o/h has friends there.
I can certainly have a good look to see if I can get some for you, if its any help.

Thank you so much that would be lovely.
Would love you to tell me all about the trip when you get back as that way is supposed to be beautiful.
You take care

you are so lucky to be able to sit in your garden today, if I sat in mine I would be drenched inside about five minutes and blown away by galeforce winds. I've been feeling a bit sorry for myself this past couple of days but I'm pretty certain that about 90% of it is due to the weather !!0 -
Hello
Just read a lot of this thread and it really struck a chord with me - I've lost touch with a lot of friends and although I've made new ones at work, I'm on the 1st week of my maternity leave and am feeling very bored and lonely at the moment.
I don't have many friends and am not close to anyone locally - I haven't a clue what to do with my days. Theres a few mother & baby groups round and about so I can meet more people once roversbaby is born - I dunno what to do in the meantime tho.
Thanks for reading!

Nope, its the same here Thriftylady but that wont stop me. I've got my eye on a huge shrub to shelter a bit under, put my wellies and waterproofs on and go for it!
Wannabe v- do you mean with a music cd?? Initially I get sitters to meditate in the quiet, and it does have to be very quiet with no disturbances 'cos at the start you're learning to listed to the silence within you. You learn to park any thoughts that come in, and explore yourself. I have specific meditation cd's that I use, not expensive ones necessarily as expensive doesnt equal spiritual (which some people forget!), but I only use them after a few sessions when sitters feel theyre getting the hang of it. Everyone who came used to float out the door of my meditations, relaxed with a little bit of peace

I've really lived it up today :rotfl:
My flatmate bought me lunch, had the chance to do anything I wanted and.......I couldn't think of anything I wanted to do :rotfl: That's how i've got myself into a rut
So in the end, came home, watched some footie, went to feed the ducks some seeds and layer pellets (I decided on what I wanted to do, and the local council have banned bread!!) Found 9 ducks, a swan, 3 cygnets and 2 moor hens  We used to have loads in our local country park and they've been chased away
Now back at home, dinner on the go (Sirloin Steak & Chips) with Cappuccino Cake (Seperately
) football in 50 minutes and 3 more presents from my flatmate to open. I've already opened my Candles, keyrings (with my cats on!) and Britney Spears Mouse Mat (Don't hold that against me, I still love her, even if no-one else does
)
My sister has also text me Happy Birthday and said she has a card and Present for me.
Not too bad a day compared to what it looked like when no post today
I'm not a materialistic person, it's just nice when someone remembers
I remain in search of that special woman0
