  • morning people!

Wow, I don't think I've been the first person posting of a morning before!
Isn't it infuriating when your OH takes the plates from the dining room to the kitchen and the leaves them beside the dishwasher!! Grrrrrrrr. I may have to have a word.

zcazz, thanks for the pattern link. It has gone on the long list of things I am allowed to do AFTER 8th Sept (dissertation due date). I am being v disciplined and am actually surprising myself! :o

skippie - thanks for the advice - I have about three weeks now and am feeling pretty relaxed as I have found some good story leads. It is on pensions (I know, I know ... but it is actually pretty interesting! The challenge is to make it interesting to read about!) It is structured as a series of four articles

1 - Annuities and the associated nightmares
2- What is your pension invested in? Ethical pensions and SIPPS. The Trend for property investment.
3- What do pension trustees do? Who are they?
4- What about the next generation? No jobs for life any more, v few final salary schemes, massive student debt, more flexible work-life balance ... is anyone under 30 doomed to penury?

so there you go. I'd better get on and do some more work! Have a good day everyone, see you later xx

edit- oh no! It took me so long to write, I'm not first anymore! Morning Kathryn!

Hehe you have to get up early to beat me! Morning.

I hated when he left plates on the side, one more thing I don't miss about him!

Keep working on the dissertation - I remember doing mine in 2 weeks and getting highest marks in the cohort, mind you I had been reading around the subject for 6 months. You'll get there.

Merhaba - I think that is how you spell it
Anyway I want to say hello all
I have been in Turkey on holiday and it was lovely to get away from it all but am now trying to avoid unpacking and the piles of washing which will turn into piles of ironing - oh god sound like a right old misery - shall I start moaning about the pants weather I have come back too!!
I am never going to be able to catch up with the last ..... pages so I will try and have a skim and scan session later - god the teacher never goes away completely eh.
I hope that everyone is well (ish) and it is great to see some new names - thanks for joining the thread.
    Love to you all anyway
Hope you have a good day and I will try to get on here as soon as I can.
    w/be xx
  • Woohoo Wannabe WELCOME BACK groupwave.gif

Been wondering where you were.....Hope you had a great Holiday. You picked the best time to go away, as the weather has been awful for August.

    What a welcome back
    thanks zc
I feel all smiley now so that huge pile of wahing - yep the blooming thing has got bigger, which will now be a huger pile of ironing does not seem so pants!
Do note there is a large amount of sarcasm in my voice!! - grr better get on this is no good.
Turkey was fab - had no idea what to expect but really liked it especially as it was a bargain late deal which considering I HAVE to go away in the school hols was great and there were not too many kiddiewinkies in the first week (sorry to all you parents out there but some parents let there kids run riot and smoke and drink far too young - ok I will get off my teacher soap box now) the second week was not as good as we has a few families that must have appeared on holidays from hell or maybe neighbours from hell and the only voice they needed to speak in was extra loud off the scale shouting - NAFFEN YOU LITTLE @@@@@@ GET YOUR @@@@ HERE groan!!!
    Anyway it was entertaining.
Back to reality - I hear my conscience calling
Tina get your bottom back in the kitchen and fill that washing machine -
    better go
byeeeee -- I may be gone a long time but as Arnie said I'll be back

    Hey all,

I was without internet access at work since yesterday 1pm  I have never been so bored :( Finally got it working at lunchtime today ~ our pc technician is on holiday so got o/h to come in and have a look seeing as he was working from home :D he got £30 for fixing it so we're going out for dinner Saturday ~ can't wait :D

I am back on a diet :( I hate dieting and never needed to until a couple of years back ~ gave up smoking and just started putting it on. Now I'm a couple of stone heavier  we joined a gym last year and were rubbish at going but thinking about joining again and actually going this time :o

Wb Wannabe :D ooohhh I was thinking about going to Turkey next year ~ still deciding on a holiday destination though.......... Good that you enjoyed yourselves :j

Hey BOC ~ welcome to our thread :) I have a couple of teenagers ~ they are both out tonight and it doesn't often happen. I should be making the most of it but I'm not

DJ ~ keep at it :D

Hi KP & CC ~ good luck with the not smoking ~ I just went cold turkey although someone gave me the Allen Carr book it wasn't for me :)

Hey Messy  Twink, and everyone else :p

  • Good evening everyone. It's been a busy couple of days (besides work).
I free cycled my DS's high bed. He's taken to sleeping on a futon full time so the thing was just taking up space. It's now gone and I'm rearranging his bedroom.(will take forever teenager..no sorry kids are so untidy)

Spent yesterday evening working on the old rabbit hutch, getting it ready for my new mini chicken ranch. Having begged on freecycle for chicken with no luck someone suggested Scot-ads (big, free to advertise, scottish paper). Called around and today found someone (only 3 miles away) with some 10 week old Barnevelders. They're gorgeous!!, Only £10 for the 2 girls.
They look a bit like this one:
    Barnev16.jpg

We're picking them up on Friday, so Names??
Once I'd got home I finally got a couple of offers of chickens on free cycle..... typical. Not to worry my wee barne's look perfect. Saw a white silikie....ooh it was cute, just like a poodle chicken. So maybe if we're good and our chicken thrive I might treat myslef to a couple of silkies next year.

I'm hoping to pick up a load of snails tomorrow - Someone on free cycle has been rounding them up for me.

AND I finished my first hat....it's a bit small, but it was a first attempt. Went to one of our local charity barns...Yes barn not shop and got some more wool for my next hat and bag set (well that's the plan whitekittysmilie.gif)

Stop me if I'm rambling. Finally on the food side, which I just had to get it in somewhere. I made lentil and bacon soup which went down a treat and cost me next to nothing, lidl do a great big pack of bacon mishapes £1 odd and I chucked in some Tesco own baked beans 17p. Bought some gorgeous ( in a glass jar) eldeflower cordial mmmm! Discovered some Pukka detox tea mmmh again, it's licorice, fennel and aniseed flavour.

Working late tomorrow night...everybody have a good day, hope the sun shines on you and everyone is nice.

    Lord omighty!!

Not only does it sound dull but also bloody hard.

I wish you luck, sounds like a mission and a half...

Mine was "The effect of brittish appeasement and the Role of British foreign policy throughout the 1930s. "

Much easier IMO, if not a little dull itself in parts.
