  • I've been lurking on this site for a while and have just recently joined up. Bit lost as to where to go, so I thought I'd pop my head around this door and say hi since this seems like one of the friendliest threads.

  • Evening all,

Welcome bucketofcoffee! How are you this fine evening?
I'm feeling v cheery as I have done LOADS of research for my dissertation today, just need to work out what it all means now and organise some interviews. Hmmmm.

My mum is coming to visit on Thursday, so I am planning my studying around that. On a random note - I got 8 sheets of plasterboard from freecycle!! Almost enough to do our whole loft conversion!!! Yayy!!!:j :j :j :j

hi rose - my friend just had a baby as well - I left just before the nappy changing!

twink - physical excercises ?? What is your job?

cantcope - good luck with giving up smoking..I'll keep my fingers crossed for you..perhaps you could put in your signature how many days it has been?

messy - Mr 4x4 sounds lovely! "It" .... raaaarrrhhh...

zcazz and twink - where would be good to get easy patterns for knitting? Love the idea of beanie hats!

sparkly - feel free to study me and my terrible habits! I am getting on much better today - I started at 9 and work for 45 minutes, then have a 15 minute break. That seems to work. Getting started is always hard, but I am actually getting quite interested in the topic, so it's not too bad. I'm going to try and flog it to a paper afterwards, so the money aspect keeps me going as well!

love all and thanks for the encouragement!

When writting my dissertation during easter, i found that leaving 3 weeks to write it was perfect.

I started work at 7pm and finished at about 1am, working in a uni computer lab with some mates. I'd find I'd get maybe a 1000 words done, have a good laugh with some mates and doss about on the internet, whilst also getting some research done.

My only mistake was not to proof read it, but then again I am a lazy sod.

    What's the dissertation on?

here's a link to a beanie hat pattern Pattern

Generally i just do a search online to find patterns.

CC ugogirl.gif Keep up the good work on the no smoking. Disgusting Habit. Just think on having more breath, food tasting better and you not smelling like an old ashtray.

Welcome BOC groupwave.gif to the troop. Like the avatar. Managed to watch Princess Monoke for the first time the oter night. Loved it.

Twink don't be shy. I'm shy, but I've made myself go forth and conquer. My job involves standing up and doing training and going out and meeting new people. 5 years ago I would never have believed it of myself. Do you have any good patterns for teenage type knitted stuff?

Messy - Move ON. You need to get over your ex. I know it's not easy, but we're all behind you.

Went out this evening and fixed up my little shed for the chickens, but alas I've had no word on any free chickens. What now?

Did have word on my snails. Hopefully going to collect some tomorrow.

  • Thanks for the welcome. Feeling a bit lonely tonight because boy has gone away for the week and the house seems so quiet. Strange because when he's home he's usually attached to the computer and I see very little of him (he's in that awkward teenage-y phase), but it's still different having the house to myself!

Oh dear not the awful Essex accent- I have one of those, sometimes get taken for an Aussie too although thats not good either, we have one Aussie at school with the wosrst accent you will ever hear!

Good going with the smoking, you going cold turkey? I thoroughly recommend Allen Carr - worked for me and I'm one of those people that others thought would never give up. The guy who came round the other night was astonished that I'd managed to stop even though he knew Dad died of lung cancer. But its been 3 years now and I hate the smell! Keep it up!!

Won't be able to listen Friday as am visiting cousins in Milton Keynes so wil be out of range. But hope you win loads of donuts.
