  • We are putting a (fake) wreath on our door the 1st of Decemeber. Our tree and some window lights we'll put up on the Saturday 5th Dec I think. We'll take them down the day after boxing day.
I haven't bought cards yet. Im getting some tomorrow. I'm also getting some photocards of our baby in his santa suit printed for close family.

Usually we have our tree and decoratations up a week before christmas and down Christmas night! OH is usually a scrooge but this is our first family Christmas and he is getting a bit more excited then usual.

Once Christmas has finished it is our LO's birthday on the 4th January :)
  • Mine has gone up today and will be down on 1st Jan..I leap out of bed (hangover or not) and rip em down and have a good clean up!!

Usually, I get terribly (over)excited about my tree and it goes up on December 1st.

This year, though I will hardly be home between now and 16th because of work, then I'm off on a short city break 19th-23rd then to my folks until well after Christmas.

So I'm not going to bother - and it's making me feel all humbuggy. Bah.

The thing is, I get worked up about *putting* the tree up and then want it down and packed away asap after Christmas, so it hardly seems worth it.

Never mind - someone else is cooking for me - it's not all bad :T

Mags_cat...I'd get one of those little fibre optic ones just to chuck up quickly and easily. No hassle and helps ward of the humbug feeling. :D

Think my tree and decs will go up next weekend provided I get the place cleaned thoroughly through the week.

I try and at least write out my cards in october/november, so that you have them all ready to post when you want to.:rudolf:

The decorations used to go up on the 1st december and down 12 days after christmas, but this year im putting them up a few days early as there's so many i put up and am very busy so getting a few days head start. :xmassmile

I do christmas present/general present shopping all throughout the year as well (obviously for the general stuff that people might want) you get some better bargins i find and then dont have to stress as much come december. I will manage it totally next year, about 25 days till christmas now and im going arrghhhh.

ours went up last weekend. We have decided we pay enough money on our mortgage to please ourselves :D.
  • mine will be up by the end of the month, usually ti is the irst week in december my mums birthday the 2nd( she passed away 7 years ago now), but having a new baby this year I eel even more christmasy :)

We do the exact same thing, put the tree up on my Mum's birthday, 8 December, she has been dead over 13 years. We have it as a tradition now, we also let the kids buy 2 special baubles every year, we have quite a beautiful tree now.

yeah mines nearly all up. started saturday and nearly done. have now to buy new candles for the dining table center piece, and try to find some purple chunky tinsel. Poundland online shows as having it, but weather my local store does in another matter. I must say my fav part is the fire places. hubby put the lights round them beautifully ( my attempted was um interesting, lol). need to fill the advent calenders but that will be done when the kids don't see where the stash of chocolates are, lol.
