As the OP appears to have gone bankrupt in January, her financial affairs will currently be in the hands of The Official Receiver.
The official receiver is also responsible for looking into your financial affairs for the period before
and during your bankruptcy. He or she may report to the court and has to report to your creditors.
The official receiver must also report any matters which indicate that you may have committed
criminal offences in connection with your bankruptcy or that your behaviour has been dishonest
or you have been in some way to blame for your bankruptcy.

  • tbh i wouldn't worry about it to much,it's most def not worth taking your life over, i've not read all the comments on here, i just digested a few at the start of the topic, anyway i would say we all do silly things, you could say you were very depressed and the depression made you do it, as you couldn't see a way out, also i doubt very much you will go to prison, it costs a lot to keep people in prison and if it went to court the judge would prob try and scare you, i have knowing a few people who have kept getting released from jail for violent robberies and stabbings, they keep letting these people out time and again after only a few weeks each time, so if they do this i doubt very much you'd serve more that 2 weeks if you were to be put in prison, and anyway most jails r like hotels these days so don't worry to much if you were to go to the big house, but you'll be ok, i'm 98% sure of that.. good luck ;)
  • i posted on here in the first place bcos i had realised what i done wrong. The last time i actually did it was before my bankruptcy so did try to control my obsession.

Yes i did get caught and if i wasnt ashamed or sorry for what i did then why did i ring that nasty bloke back from the catalogue company apologising, even though i was shaking in my boots.
im really not a bad person, i have never been in trouble with the law. I have a brother who is older and always in prison for stealing cars, taking drugs, he blames his past too. He has 2 young babies to live for... I have nothing. Our mother treated us all very bad, allowing our step dad to do those things. So i guess it affects us all in different ways.

So i realise what i did was bad, yes i have mental health issues but am still a mature and sensible person, i have brought myself up in this tough world since the age of 14.

AND ONCE AGAIN, I HAE USED THIS FORUM FOR QUESTIONS FOR MY FRIEND AND SISTER, BROTHER, EX BOYFRIEND ETC

NOT ALL THE QUESTIONS ARE ABOUT ME, SO DONT ASSUME STRAIGHT AWAY.

the people whos names i took the credit out in dont exist. They were fake names. I piggybacked the neighbours addresses, i applied for the credit at their address and then went on and changed the address back to my address just so i would get pass the credit check. No bills or letters have ever been sent to my neighbours so they were none the wiser. Even though it is still all wrong.

I have been going to anxiety and depression groups lately. And just started college one day a week for 3 hours. I have tried to change my life around since my bad behaviour in the past, but unlucky for me, someone found me out.

but i promise you all it did stop...

Sorry you have had such difficult times during your life. It does sound horrendous and it is easy to see why you would be affected by it. Try not to get bogged down in the opinions and arguments on the thread, it's an emotive subject and people inevitably get fired up about it, but you have had some excellent advice too, so focus on that.

You are clearly upset and scared by all of this, but I think if you take the first step towards tackling it, you will start to feel better. Taking control of a situation is the single most powerful thing you can do to combat anxiety and depression.

As people have confirmed that the CAB will treat this as confidential, perhaps they would be a starting point - could you contact them and make an appointment, or call in?

I have a feeling this thread will rumble on and on, probably going in circles, so perhaps print out the bits you need, or copy and paste them somewhere, and then I would be tempted to step away from the thread altogether, because I have seen how quickly these types of things can degenerate into a slanging match, which is really not what you need right now.

Try to get some sleep. x

Guys, in comparison to other regular posters I am fairly new to the site and as such i willingly bow to others who have seen and responded to many more posts that me and are probably more worldy wise than I am.
But it seems to me that this OP is in a very bad way at the moment. I stand by my previous post stating that she has to take responsibility for the frauds but I'm really concerned that this girl appears to have some very serious emotional issues and rightly or wrongly needs some constructive guidance rather than attacks. I hope I'm not being very stupid.

I'd say that's obvious too. she needs help from someone with the right qualifications and not just about money and fraud...she's not well, and alone.

I've never been in those shoes and hope if I ever am that people will resist the urge to be judge and jury. N0-one here got sworn in lately did they?

What the hell is wrong with people who fire abuse at someone who just told us she was close to suicide? Who would be sleeping well if she actually is and this turned out to be that last straw?

This seems to me to be an occasion to help or stay silent.

Sounds like your life has been pretty hard indeed. And that everyone has suffered including your bro.

Perhaps instead of writing about the troubles you should take some of the advice and do something by phoning one of the agencies that people have suggested. And it sounds like the Samaritans will be the best people. Have you done this? Lots of people are giving you advice but you seem to be carrying on telling us about why your life is so difficult. This is perhaps because you really are poorly and need some advice from people who are more qualified to do so? (Not that people on here aren't helpful of course!!). Give the Samaritans a ring 08457 909090 and talk to someone properly :grouphug: (they'll even call you back if you can't afford to pay!)
    A&L OD: £968.60 (18/11/09)
    Sainsbury's Loan: £6859.98 (18/11/09)
    Virgin CC: £2123.22 (18/11/09) £2097.34 20/11/09
    Zopa Loan: £6865.57 (18/11/09)
TOTAL: £16,817.37 not incl Bank of M&D!
:mad::eek::mad::eek::mad::eek::mad::eek: but WILL do it this time!!!!

As others have said, we all make mistakes and it is certainly not worth ending your life over. So I am not going to give you hard time; however I wanted to point out one thing. I although you used fake names to open accounts and then changed the billing address back to your own address, that can still impact on the people whose addresses you have used. A similar thing was done with my address some years ago, and as far as the banks and loan companies were concerned, my address was flagged up as connected to a series of frauds. I had very good credit at the time, but suddenly found that applications for a credit card and a loan were refused. When I pursued it, I was told that this was due to irregularities connected with my address - made worse because I was the sole person living in my flat. I was interviewed by the police, who wanted to ensure that I had not been working in collusion with the fraudster, answering questions like 'why did they choose your address, you must have suspected something, if not why not? etc'. I was made to feel like a criminal.

I fully accept that you regret what you did, and I am not trying to make you feel worse. I just want you and anyone else who might be thinking of doing this, to realise that your actions may have implications for other people.

Having said that, I really do hope that you manage to sort everything out and finally get your life back on track.
  • The only thing worse than being chased for a debt that is yours is being chased for a debt that isn't yours. Although I can sympathise with the anxiety attacks the original poster is having, I wonder about the people whose addresses were used and could now be getting chased by debt collectors.

There's lots of advice on the thread for her to try and help her out the situation she's in and hopefully she'll take it. As with all advice on here, it's now up to the OP to decide how she wants to deal with this.
Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!

At least you know now that what you did is wrong and you want to do something about it.

i would say the number one priority is to get yourself to your GP you need to sort your mental issues out (ment with all respect) but you are never going to be in the right frame of mind to get anything sorted if you have mental problems, i can not relate to how you are feeling as i have not been in your situation., nor can i say what you did is right as its not but as i said right at the begining at least you are owning up to what you have done which is the first step to getting things sorted.

secondly, i would see someone at your nearest CAB about your legal situation, print off any corispondance and take any letters about the fraud's and go and seek professional advise, the CAB are a good bunch iam sure they would of had something like this before go and see them asap.

Do not speak with any of these companies on the phone or email anymore, make sure all corispondance is done in writing from now on, and any letters you send are sent recorded delivery.

I would imagine you are scared right now, i can imagine i would be if i was in your position but ending your life ? excuse me for saying this but get a grip, if you have done what you say you have done, ie kicked out from the age of 14 etc etc iam sure you can get past this hurdle easily so nock it off with the ending your life stuff.

Good luck with where this goes, be strong and get your self to your GP.

    wayne.

Quick real point here - she has already admitted it by writing the letter to the neighbours.

I think that Bubbles just wants someone to talk to. No offence but none of the advice you people are giving her is even being taken in. She just wants to receive grief for her actions then make an attempt to explain it.

Bubbles - Get to the CAB, get to the doctors or call the Samaritans in that order. Stop coming on here and pleading your case. People are willing to help and give you advice but your wasting more peoples time by not doing anything with it. This is your chance now to sort this whole mess out once and for all - get on with it!
