How about a HUGE HM Rice pudding!!!
I had a milk problem yesterday. Got sent to the Cash and Carry and they had that Cravendale milk reduced to 60p for 4 pints. Trouble was no room in the freezer, already 16 pints in the fridge so I used 2 pints in a huge rice pudding. The kids had ready brek for breakfast and thankfully DS drinks it as if there's no tomorrow so 'the stocks' have reduced to a more sensible level now.0 -
Cheese sauce?
Semolina?
Custard?
Hot choc?
Porridge?
Milk shakes?A minute at the till, a lifetime on the bill.
Nothing tastes as good as being slim feels.

Hi,
I'm looking for a bit of advice please...
My shopping came on Monday with my usual 12 pints of milk, but unfortunately they both go out of date today!!! We have used up one 6 pint but still have another un-opened. Any ideas please on what to do with it?
I am on Slimming World so don't want to make too many cakes etc, although I will amke a few for the kids.
I also have pudding rice, so if I made up a big batch, how long do you think it would last in the fridge (or can it be frozen?)
Any other ideas greatly welcomed as I really don't want to tip it all away!!

Can't you freeze it if you have room.
Or you could make a milkshake for the kids or some cheese/white sauce and freeze till needed. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
If I froze it, I would still need to use it up the day it was unfrozen anyway.
wouldn't I??

Make a huge vat of cheese sauce and freeze in small tubs.
Or, freeze in 1 pint or smaller quantities clearly labelling that it has to be used up as soon as defrosted. Use to make sauces, muffins, scones, bread, milk puds etc.
Is it actually in danger of going off ? We were drinking milk a good week after its use-by date the other day. It had only just started to turn -I froze it for use in muffins etc.
It doesn't suddenly become lethal after a particular date -you'll know when it's bad0 -
Thanks
hadn't thought of white sauce...that wil be one use...
